Creating Flowers and leaves using the Shelee Art Bloom Technique on 6x6 canvas.
Paints colors are - Amsterdam tube paint with pouring medium
Base paint is Color place by Walmart / Antique white mixed in 4 cup batches stored in a pouring Container with 1/4 cup of Golden GAC800
I make my own pouring medium -
2 cups Burr deep bass 8300 / 1 & 1/2 cup of Polyacrylic
1/8 cup of Golden GAC 800
I use the worlds smallest leaf blower found on Amazon.

My spinner box is a hard plastic wreath holder, I had the hump cut out, taped up the whole with duck tape and put my spinner in it. Works great/ bought one and now I have two cause of the top and bottom. 🥰 I bought it at Walmart.

I am brand spanking new to anything paint pouring and had one question. When you spin your work, how are you keeping the canvas from moving or shifting about? Do you stick it down to your spinner somehow? Thank you!!

@@michellequinnstudios Yes Michelle, I put a bit of base paint helps keep the canvas in place, then when I put down my base on the canvas, I’m not shy with it. So as it flows over the edge that helps too. Happy Painting 👩🏻‍🎨🎨

🤣🤣🤣 LOL 🤣 I get that if you never seen it done before. I remember thinking that exact same thing to this artist she has a KZbin it’s called “Paint Pouring by Kathleen Miller”, I would look and say oh my god what is she doing that looks crazy and it would turn out beautiful. So the important thing to remember is it doesn’t matter what the colors were. But there’s always a dark color, a lighter color and then an accent center color like gold. One thing I do like to do is with my leaves, I use three different colors it doesn’t matter what colors are yours, just make them contrasting. One Bright, one light and gold maybe. Same with the flowers, but the flowers I layer on top of each other. Where are the leaves I make them next to each other so the contrast shows more. Review the video again so you can see more of what I mean. Have fun with your color choices, I find that the Boulder colors work best. Pastel colors not so much.

What is the cell activator.? Do you purchase it separate from paints? Your flowers are beautiful. Want to try it!

Hi Darrah, yes I buy Australian floetrol and use that as a cell activator. It can be pricey but it’s worth every penny and it never disappoints. I mix it up by the teaspoon 1 teaspoon of paint to 3 teaspoons of floetrol. I mix my paints with 2 cups of BEHR ultra deep bass #8300 and 1 1/2 cups Polyacrylic clear gloss and 1/8 cup of GAC 8300 To prevent cracking. I mix this all up and put it in squeeze bottles to dispense when I’m ready to mix my colors. If I use a heavy body paint and it needs to be thin still a bit more I add a bit of Jo Sonia vanish. I hope that helps. Soon I will make a video about mixing medium, paints and cell activator. So subscribe so you won’t miss anything and what’s coming next.

Thank you Laura, I’m glad you enjoyed. In all my videos I do talk about the fact that I use Australian floetrol. I love it and it never disappoints. It might be pricey but I only use it as a cell activator. I mix it up by the teaspoon, 3 teaspoons of floetrol to 1 teaspoon of Amsterdam paint. Amsterdam is the color I use mostly for my cell activator.

Here’s a link to the one I bought. I taped it down, I taped two paint stirring sticks to it so I could have something to really spend it with. They cover the whole thing with the press and seal.
