9 बुरी आदतें जो करती हैं किडनी खराब
In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan will tell about 9 bad habits for a kidney failure patient. When your kidneys get damaged, it decreases kidney function. So, we advise every person to avoid these bad habits to prevent kidney failure.
1). Excess Intake of Coffee- Consumption of excess coffee & caffeine containing foods can lead to kidney failure. Coffee results in high blood pressure. However, this high blood pressure makes the person feel better, but it harms their kidneys. Drinking coffee occasionally is fine, but extra shots of coffee harm the patient’s kidneys. Too much intake of caffeine directly affects the kidneys.
2). Tobacco- Smoking and chewing tobacco is also bad habit. It works the same as caffeine. It increases blood pressure. And, thus, harms our kidneys. It destroys our kidney's inner structure. If you want to keep your kidneys healthy, stop the consumption of tobacco.
3). Excess Intake of Red Meat- Excess consumption of red meat is harmful to our kidneys. It causes a load on our kidneys. It takes time to digest. It is a complex protein structure. Excess intake of red meat causes kidney failure. You can consume red meat occasionally.
4). Consumption of Painkillers- Consumption of painkillers, without the consultation of doctor, affects not only our health but also our kidney’s health. AKI condition or Acute Kidney Injury occurs by excess intake of painkillers. An analgesic nephropathy condition occurs when a painkiller affects the kidneys. Long-term intake of painkillers causes damage to kidneys and other body organs.
5). Lack of Sleep- Lack of sleep can cause weakness, nervousness, stress, rapid heartbeat, etc. Moreover, sleeplessness results in an increase in blood pressure that further causes kidney failure. A person must sleep for at least 6-8 hours.
6). Less Water Intake- Less water consumption affects urine production, i.e., urine becomes pale or burning sensation in urine as well as results in the accumulation of waste material in the body. If a person consumes less water, it harms our kidneys & lowers our kidney function. Our kidneys filter blood and excrete out waste material from our body. An adequate amount of water should be consumed. Dry lips, dry tongue, & dry throat indicate that there is a need to have a glass of water.
7). Excess Consumption of Fast Food- Fast food is a rich source of preservatives, synthetic colors, an excess amount of salt, etc. These affect our body organs, especially our kidneys and liver. Fast food is difficult to digest. It enhances our blood pressure. And gives load to our kidneys. Eat fast food occasionally, not on a daily basis.
8). Diabetes- One out of four diabetic patients might also have kidney failure issues, as well. The excess sugar level is the major reason for kidney failure. So, don’t ignore your diabetic level below 200 mg/dL. Try to maintain it.
9). Hypertension- Uncontrolled blood pressure can damage kidneys in the long term. Again, one out of four high BP patients also have kidney failure issues, as well. A patient must check their blood pressure before having medicines. The normal BP level of a person should be 120/80 mm Hg. To maintain blood pressure levels, we advise patients to keep their diastolic BP under 80.
So, avoid these bad habits to protect yourself from several body issues, including paralysis, kidney failure, cardiac arrest, etc.
