I believe that apart from wrexham players playing for the money and not pride, I also believe the fact that because grimsby only got relagated last season and not 15 years ago like wrexham, the pain was fresher in their minds and supporters.

Yes, it might sound obvious, but getting back up at the first attempt can be crucial. Don't know how the parachute payment works now, but when we spent a year in the conference, we got half the money we'd have got for being in the 92 in the first season. Had we not gone straight back up, that money would have dropped to 10% of the Football League money, and we would've had to restructure big style. Good luck in the final (presuming you're a Mariner).

Born in Cleethorpes makes me a mariner, but also the O's the Royals the bee's Dallas tornados, and non league Barnet and Dover and if he had played for Wrexham I would include those too.

New Manager...possibly, new players...absolutely (lack of squad quality in depth has been Wrexham's undoing). However, Wrexham may struggle to keep hold of better players for next season...Mullin has been strong (with average service), I would not be surprised if he requests transfer should a bigger club come in.

How will Wrexham deal with ffp for next season? Rumour was Tozer went from £1500 a week to £7500 a week at Wrexham on a three year contract. Can’t blame him tbh as he was well thought of at Cheltenham by the fans. £200k a good deal for a 31 year old in his last year at us but now another year in the conference means the yanks will have to up their sponsorship.

That was a great game for the neutral, I imagine painful for your lot but there can only be one winner. I thought you lot lost a spark once Palmer went off. I didn’t think it was a foul for the penalty, but you should’ve had one for Crocombe’s foul on Hosannah, and Mullin handled the ball for his goal. McAtee and Waterfall were different gravy yesterday, and it was interesting to see Grimsby fighting fire with fire via the long throw, so for me it was a fair result. Shocked to read so many calling for Parkinson to go, I think you need to keep the faith with him. With a midfielder to compliment Davies, a solid defender, and some quality in depth you’ll walk away with it next season. I think some of the comments by some of our fans are unnecessary and we should show a bit more class (although chanting about winning the league doesn’t do any favours, given we won it two weeks ago). Your vids have been great though. Keep it up.

For Wrexham to finish 2nd in the league and not get promoted is an absolute travesty. It is about time the National League be given more promotion spots. I hope that there will be 4 promotion spots for National League very soon, so those who finish in bottom 4 in League 2 be relegated and the top 3 in National League be given automatic promotion and the 6 teams finishing 4th to 9th be fighting for the 4th promotion spot.

Both defences were shite along with a shite referee too. Not sure about the best side won, could have gone either way and wrexham should have had 2 penalties with pearson on davies and hossanah. Very even game. One of them days, the defences were exposed big time. Get rid of the hangers on for next season, a good clear out is needed and strengthen the squad good and proper.

Truth is ref had a absolute mare and should never been in charge , he realised his mistake with mullin and first pen , so then more than balanced it out by not giving 2 later on. Not one side deserved too win like stated, both sides defensively were crap and chances galore for both.

Stockport fan here. For the neutrals it was a great game but the play offs really are a disgraceful way to decide who goes up with us. It cannot be right that the team who finishes second ends up going out to a team who finished a few places below them. Football isn't just a sport it is also a business and businesses shouldn't be expected to accept the roll of a dice at the seasons end.

I think it's more important for there to be 3 promotion places in the national League, 2 auto and 1 play off. Wrexham would already be up, then let the lower places battle it out for a promotion spot. Much fairer than what is currently in place. National League promotion organisation is bloody archaic and needs to change with the times. County fan.

Grimsby finished 6th 11 pts behind Wrexham. It is absolutely not fair at all that a second place team is knocked out by a 6th place team when the second place team would be in any other league above, have already had automatic promotion. I have absolutely no issue with the play offs between 3rd and 6th but 2nd should be up automatically just like in the football league
