9 Holes on Awesome Golf with the Rapsodo MLM2PRO (Island Beach)

Great video Joe. I play the Awesome Golf courses quite frequently on my R10. I usually play the tees one less than the longest tees you played. No way I can take on the water and drive the green the way you did on a couple of those holes. I'd definitely end up in the ocean. 😂 I have to lay up. Some holes it's tough enough carrying the water with my drive as we island hop our way to the green. Fun courses but like you I'd love to see them add more.

Mate some of those carrys off the back tees just to the fairway were LONG!! definitely not Mickey mouse courses. Can't wait for them to add more.. surely they are coming soon 🤞🤞🤞🤞

The comment about it picking up the bad ones was funny! It happens here and especially with the R10 when you have to make a 3 yd chip in a SGT round! I really wish they could fix the issues with the missed shots and chips with the Rapsodo.

It's ALWAYS the way hahaha 🤣 a good friend of mine has a GC3 and it happens to him as well so it's not just the cheaper units. That being said my GC2 is VERY reliable (touch wood). Smash one down the middle no read.... Completely hit the next shot horrendous and it picks it up.... Typical 🤣. Yeah the misreads with the R10 used to do my head in I used to get a random misread where it would just say I cut across the ball 20 degrees it was only ever in the SGT tournaments of course lol

In my garage my ceiling is too low to hit full shots so I do exactly what you suggested. Play the short tees and hit punch shots.

Hey Graeme this was pre update. Funnily enough I’ve never had any issues with Awesome Golf and connection (famous last words). Fingers crossed its still as stable after the update ill be doing some testing tomorrow.

Thanks mate! Yes since the Rapsodo cant connect to GS Pro I’ll pretty much be using AG with the Rapsodo. The native app is just…. Well lets just say it needs a bit of work!

I watched your video of RMLM2Pro with the E6 software and all the connectivity issues and inability to read spin axis. I see much better performance with the awesome golf here. Are all the issues related to compatibility with 3rd party software-E6? Can u comment on spin axis performance with awesome golf and with the native practice range that comes with it.? This is really important as I believe the device would still be good for working on swing mechanics. I don't care too much if I can't get Simulation as long as I can get good data on spin rate, axis, club and ball speed and shot shape on a virtual driving range. Those are the metrics I need to work on my accuracy. It is a 700$ device after all. If I can get all the above reliably, I could dispense with the golf sim aspect.

Hey Rick everything you just said the Rapsodo MLM2PRO does great! With Awesome Golf like you saw in the video (apart from the missed shots) the connection was really stable. I actually played all four of the 9 hole courses and filmed them (will be releasing the videos over the next month). Awesome Golf can use the spin axis from the Rapsodo so you are going to get accurate shot shape and spin. For your purpose it sounds like the MLM2PRO is perfect paired with Awesome Golf. The only thing is you will need to pay the annual subscription and use the RPT balls (or DOTS from Rapsodoballdots.com). Apparently there is a fix coming for e6 so it can use the spin axis but I haven’t seen anything yet. And finally I’m really hoping that Rapsodo can refine the chipping because at the moment its not great.. but for your use case this doesn’t seem like a priority. Hope that helps

The quality of Awesome Golf can't be denied, and I think in some ways the courses can be more fun with friends than sim courses. However for how long we have only had 4 courses. I do wonder if we are going to get more? Even a second 9 for the 4 we have would create some more replayability. The MLM2pro release has not been smooth at all, hope we see some improvements asap. Yeah I agree and like I said in the video Awesome golf is a training tool and the way it displays the information on the ranges especially the coaching range is absolutely fantastic. I wish I could hook my GC2 up to it! And I think the courses for them were just a fun addition to such an amazing bit of software. But I feel like the courses could actually be the reason people buy this app. They could really be something special if they expanded on them. I did hear a while back they did have that in mind but I think they have had a lot of other stuff in the works that maybe it went by the wayside for a while. They do listen to their customers though look at the whole exporting data. The community asked for it and it took a little bit but now we have that option.

How come you use yards while playing? But using meters when talking about your ceiling height just curious if a lot of people stick with yards when golfing I also have the issue when I first start playing in awesome golf the first 5 minutes I seem to have more miss reads then it gets better which seemed to happen here as well. Not sure why or if you noticed that before

Hey TJ so I grew up in the states (Texas) so for golf I have always been and will always be yards.. but then everything else in life I'm metric... But then again I do sometimes just reference imperial things time to time as I'm in aviation and that's all imperial!! Hahaha 🤣 so it's just a mixed bag. Yeah it's odd it's like the MLM2PRO needs to warm up 😂. It definitely had more misses at the start compared to the end

Yes! You are absolutely correct. I checked and we got the ceilings the extra height as part of our "free" extras when we built! Wish I got the 3m ceilings now 🤣. Next time..

Yeah look it is absolutely incredible with its carry distance and shot shape indoors so ill give it that. But they have a LOT of work to do if they want it to be used for sim golf in any capacity..

Hahahaha yes you just don’t know what you’ll get with me… As I went to middle and high school in Texas half my measurements are in imperial and the other half metric. Let’s just say that is the absolute minimum ceiling height I would want lol
