I am from Norway, and its beautiful here, definitely in the winter when the snow comes.

Yes! We kept thinking about how incredible it’d be to come back when it’s full on snowing

@@LisaAndJosh If you want to go in the winter just remember that in December - January even as fare south as Kristiansand there are less then 5 hours of day light. Really the only time that snow is a nice experience is when there is sun at Easter. Then it can be a fantastic experience. Most of the time it is just dark, wet and cold.

I did this whole trip but on an exploratory ship where I got a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle on a ship, saw the northern lights went to Longyearbyen and Svalbard and the cathedral in Trondheim is stunning. I went all the way to Russia via Finland and then back to Bergen. You guys missed out on your certificate!!!

65 is decent, but not great. Back before privatisation, there were often 249 nok (25 usd) deals. Same trains, same cafe.

Maybe you didn't notice but 20 min after leaving Trondheim the train pass Hell station. There are Godsterminal and Hell shopping centre to be found. Hell have also produced a miss Universe (1990). She was called miss Universe from Hell. NOTE: Norway is not an English speaking country ....hence Hell does not mean the English word hell .....and Godstreminal means cargo terminal. A bit past Fauske with the train to Bodø (less than 48 km) you would have found Saltstraumen which is the world's strongest whirlpool caused by tidal water..... But I guess you can't do it all when you limit yourself to a tight schedule...

My wife and I visited Tromsø last month. If you go there definitely check out a cafe called Risø, and try their croissant. It was amazing. Oh wait ... i just heard you say that it was just after the 24 hours of daylight. That means you were there a while ago. Nevermind. You're probably already off to the next country by now. Well ... next time!
