Any goal that the ball didn't cross the line would not be disallowed by VAR but rather goal line technology. They might appear similar but they are still different. The fact that Sheffield United did not have a goal given for them a few seasons back even though the ball clearly crossed the line but goal line technology was down proves this. Secondly, Rooney's goal against West Ham may still have counted. Mane also shoved a defender out of the way to score against wolves and that goal was given. Whose to say that will not happen with Rooney's goal? Lastly, Bent's goal against Liverpool will definitely still count. Even though the rule calls for play to be stopped when there's a foreign object on the field,it does however stress that whatever outcome came whiles the ball was in play before the stoppage counts. The goal would have stood anyway
