I feel really sad I have no chance to give birth at home or birthing centre but have to go to hospital and be a slave to their curves and expectations. They will demand me to push when they want and the delivery to last only as long as they want. Like it's a race. :P

@@fuckingpotatoes5624 It's really hard to do that while you're in the most pain and intense emotion of your life. Not to mention that many hospitals don't let you just "tell them what you want." They have legalities to worry about and they will literally ignore you. I have a friend who said she didn't want to push as the baby was coming out and thr Dr just reached in and grabbed it.

Natalie Prather You research. Find thr hospital you want. Go through a midwife. And write a birth plan. I know shit hospitals exist, but the one I just gave birth in wasn't. Granted, my birth plan didn't work out, but that was due to complications.

What that dr did is assault and punishable by law. It's your body, and your baby. You are paying the drs. Make your needs known beforehand and have multiple advocates. If a dr wont listen...find a new one. Midwives are wonderful and work in hospitals these days. I'd also suggest researching doulas.

My daughter just gave birth 2 weeks ago to her first child in a hospital. They legally had to follow her birth plan. Her water broke at home. 2 hours later we went to the hospital and she was 5cm. She requested no constant monitory, They only checked baby once every hour after a contraction. No IV or IV port. She was able to eat the entire time. 100% natural! They came in and talked to her about inducing with Cytotec which she politely said no thank you. She delivers an hour and a half after they tried to get her to let them induce. She was free to walk around and get into the water without being attached to cords and monitors. Most amazing delivery I’ve ever seen. Her so called midwife was not happy at all about not being able to control my daughters labor! It was exactly the labor and delivery my daughter wanted. You just have to be firm with them. Do lots of research!
