I've heard extremely technically proficient and knowledgeable improvisers completely fail at telling a story with their solo.
When this happens it stinks!
None of us want to be in that position. Here's 9 ways for you to be a GREAT storyteller when soloing. Let's get it!
If you have questions or suggestions for a podcast lesson you would like us to do, please leave them in the comments down below.
_____________
Have you been trying to learn jazz piano with youtube videos, dvds, teachers but feel like you're still constantly guessing, can't play any tunes without copying what someone else has played,
and don't know how to connect all the tid bits you've learned?
I went through the same thing but thankfully stumbled upon a learning system I created based on
proven language learning blocks.
The JPS System brings you through 4 main categories of learning,
Theory, Technique, Improvisation and Repertoire.
I'll show you exactly how to utilize our popular system so
you can finally achieve jazz piano freedom: jazzpianoschool.com/lookinside

Thanks for this video! It was awesome - you put together so many great ideas for improvising. So many times I find myself coming out of the box blazing with nowhere to go.

Awesome video! Very underrated. Basic stuff, and I feel like I already knew all of it. But it helped me a lot with my improvsation! I love what you do with the left hand by the way.

This was great content B. I love it when you do "lists". It helps breaking jazz piano concepts into specific ideas, or 'chapters' if you will, as opposed to grasping the entirety of it as a whole, which is impossible

What did you do in the modern style for the measure 7 and 8 in 12 bars?
@jazzpianoschool
@jazzpianoschool 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven: thanks for the question. For m7&8 in the 12 bar blues; it can vary, but most of the time 17/iiimin7-V7/ (so in F that would be: F7/A-7 - D7/). Hope this helps!

Shells ???
@jazzpianoschool
@jazzpianoschool 4 жыл бұрын
Hi @pleximanic: thanks for the question. Shells are referring to the outer edges of the chord, 1+7 or 1+3 (sometimes you may hear shells refer to 3+7). Hope this helps!
