A real winter fishing vid. I know southern bass react differently to cold, but if they aren't wearing winter jackets, it's not what I consider winter fishing

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback Doubletake 123!

The chemical reactions that take place in the body of bass do literally slow down in cold water temperatures. They can still generate speed but in general don't.

The term lethargic is used overwhelming over and over when describing bass behavior during winter. Every video anyone puts out mentions that word. Your explanation is the first time I've heard describing the bait fish. Makes total sense. Thank you!

Do y’all ever fish Lanier
@kellymoore45174 жыл бұрын
Yes, we fish Lanier mostly up around Clark Bridge but we go south as well. The river north is a great fishery and very pretty.

Some of my winter bass came from Roadrunner style baits... the jigheads with the spinners under the chin while fishing for crappie in suspended columns of water. I usually target quarry walls on the sun side that are vertical. The fish just move up and down the wall over the course of the day. As the water rises in temp.

Just used an underspin in a small pond for the first time a few weeks ago, after getting follow ups on a Rattletrap. Caught a bass on the underspin. Went back the next day and the pond had frozen over!

I just switched back to the tube on my spinning rod. It was immediately productive. Would a flat side crank bait make your also eligible list?
@A3hree2273 жыл бұрын
Im a year late but in my opinion yes i would use a red square bill and go on a rocky area and cast down the stretch with a stop and go action

On the finesse baits, I get bit a lot on the pause. If it's a small fish the line will barely twitch so you have to be watching.
@bassresource4 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely Richard Doxtater! Thanks for watching!

You have grate info but how can you use though baits in weeded bottoms in a boat marina around docks no boat
@bassresource4 жыл бұрын
Use the dropshot, splitshot, jigs, and Texas rigged plastics. You can also run the underspins and blade baits just over the top of the weeds. Good luck!

Nice tips and advice like your channel I fish in Panama City Florida.....I’ll be sure and pick up a few of those lures I only had a under spin and that first lure and do u get hung up a lot because fl is really grassy and a lot of snags...thanks
@bassresource4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, yes, you'll get hung up with the open-hook grub, but Texas rigged plastics and jigs should work just fine.
