I dont think you can blame your parents after you are 18 years old. You have to make your own choices and define your standards. People make exuces " oh my parents didn't raise me well" listen up dipshit you have to raise yourself sometimes when you want to do big things in life

@JoeMama-sd2kl4 жыл бұрын
@@nicolomachiavelli8543 that is your own opinion based on the experiences you lived. Im not justifying blaming other people for your problems, but its too easy to say "listen dipshit you have to raise yourself". A lot of people struggle with self worth, mental health, and bad behaviour because of their parents. And at 18 years old, its simply too young for the majority of people to "raise themselves" and overcome all the extremities. 18 years old is fucking young. Gary.. this is awesome. Ty! I have a 14 year old and I hold her feet to the fire almost every day. I say things to her like, “be a woman of your word or you will attract exactly what you are dishing out and believe me when I tell you, you do NOT want to be surrounded by people who will lie to you to get whatever they want out of you.” She fights me and becomes insulted that I “called her a lier.” But eventually she comes around to reality, takes responsibility and shows it with acts of self respect. I believe Holding them accountable is the antidote.

I love very few men in my life, I only have two brothers and a step brother... With that said though, I think I can proudly say that I love Gary Vee or at least all the sense that's pouring out of his mouth... I find my self thinking, where on earth does a man aged 43 have so much insight into live and the lives of other people? Been trying to catch him out by listening to what he says and then questioning his statements, and in my own very humble opinion there's just a wealth of wisdom to learn from and no bullshit at all... Love you Gary!!!

You are absolutely right Gary! We have to start with SELF and teaching what values make up the SELF ! It starts with teaching our kids VALUES, what they are, what they mean, how they are the foundation of everything we choose and do! Then we must introduce Self Awareness so that they stop, self challenge a decision against their values, and make the best choice for them in that moment. Finally, as you say over and over, Accountability is the glue that causes one to become self-aware and course correct! Thank you for highlighting your value of Empathy so loudly! What other values do you hold dear that you can begin to introduce to the masses? We are the Human Values Center facilitate workshops supported by self-directed discovery around identifying and living by your own personal values, while teaching and building mechanisms for accountability within organizations, schools, companies, and families.

It's interesting how my parents were like most in the sense that they always compared me to others and wished I could be like others, yet this was probably how I never developed any sense of entitlement as I was often told I didn't do as well I could have etc. That hurt and made me look for their approval for much of my life but now that that's overcome, looking back, there were also some positives afterall. Self awareness is key.
