Definitely worth the effort for it. Boosts price, experience for maintenance and it doesn't take long. You can do the same with laundering any clothing/armour you loot too. This removes blood and improves their condition which both effect price.

#1 Beginners trap, do NOT attempt to knock someone out until you have levelled up your Strength, attempting to choke someone triggers a strength check which if you fail the opponent will break free, it's especially apparent if you try to choke out guards near the start of the game.

Best way to make money: Fast travel to Skalitz with a horse and enter at the (I think) north western gate. There’s a small battle inside taking place every single time. Wait for the bandits to clear out and you can loot some often incredibly strong valuable armor. Fast travel back to Rattay armorer and you can pretty easily make 2k-7k per trip. Not to mention getting better stuff than you can buy in the store for free.

There's also a nice little spot up from Sasau, near the hut where you dig up a treasure behind it. The crossroads as you go to Rovna just up from that hut almost always has a big battle. The little hut has a bed. So, I just go in, sleep the night, get up, see if there is a battle. Wander around come back. Usually at least 2-3 battles per day and sometimes as many as 7 guys dead. Sometimes you have to fight people, but if you play it right, you can have a one on one battle and then get all the armor left behind. If I get overloaded, I just drop it all in the hut and gather as much as 3K in weight. That was my last trip. I made 30K for that trip. The only drawback is I had to walk to Sasau with 3K in weight.

Lynxerax they massively drop the ball in terms of realism in SO many ways that the magic was lost for me quite early on in the game anyways so I didn’t mind a small exploit to make the game more fun. This game is full of weird bugs and has some elements that are super realistic, but many that are so ridiculously unrefined that it’s hilarious.

My best newt tip is; don't use fast travel if Henry is in a hurry. Fast Travel covers ground at walking pace. If you have a horse, cantering will get you there in half the time. If you gallop, even less time. It comes down to whether you want to waste Henry's time or yours.

Cool trick that still works. If you go to any trader, armourer, or weapons smith, sell them everything you have but before you commit, haggle and it’ll take you out of the inventory. When this happens immediately open your own inventory before the haggle screen appears and send all those items to your horse. Then proceed with the haggle and you get coin for nothing and keep all your items.

You can do a quest in Talmburg that if you play it out correctly will make you the master huntsmen to Talmburg. Thus you can hunt without it being considered poaching. It actually allows you to hunt ANYWHERE, not just around Talmburg. So now animal meat wont be listed as stolen items.

Biggest tip; follow the main story until you are tasked with finding the bandit camp in the forest (so yes go hunting, save Hans, go to the stud farm, find the other two members of the gang) then learn master parries form Bernie and then do side quests. There's loads and they are fun. If you try the side quests before you get master parries can be a pain if you are new.

1.) Learn "counter" from Bernard asap. As in most Open World games, I ignored the main quest pretty early and almost quit the game because of the melee fights. Npcs predicted 97% of my attacks, making them almost impossible to win. After 15-20 hours of playtime I actually learned the counter from Bernard, which made fights so much easier. 2.) With counter and 1-2 hours sparring with bernard to buff your perks (optional but makes it easier), go enter the rattay tournament as much as you can. It will reward you with high-end gear parts (also highly valuable) 3.) Innkeepers and millers sometimes sell treasure maps. Find the treasures. You can find decent gear, groschen and valuable skill books. 4.) Unlock stealth lvl 3 perk "stealth kill" and go to little bandit camps at night. Most of the time you can kill at least half of them while they are asleep ( be sure to have low noise gear and a dagger)

Also, maxing out your reading skill will allow you to unlock everything on the map so it all shows from hunting spots to quest givers and so so much more (even treasure locations if you have read the maps for those). Pretty nifty hidden bits for that perk that I found during my gameplay. Oh, and once you have a full set of armour, you can literally just walk backwards with a bow armed with better piercing arrows and kill anyone trying to fight you with ease Have to be good at using the bow though of course. The armour will "glance" pretty much all of the incoming hits (until it's broken completely of course but that takes awhile), which makes it do no damage. The enemy will try rushing you to close the gap, giving you a perfect chance to shoot them in the face (or neck if they have a full plate helm). They can't block when they're rushing, so this also works for stabbing if you time it properly. It's a great way to limit the number of enemies you have chasing you and get a bit of space between you and them, but you have to be aware of what's behind you or you can get yourself into a real bind!

Some enemies in camps take of their armor at night when they go sleep its much easier to defeat them in their pyjamas, or you can poison their food and wine and just loot them without any fight.

Protip: to make a mountain of groschen, one only needs to find two specific chests in Rattay (hint; they are both in guard towers). They both contain up to hundreds of weapons and other gear that you can sell over time. The only catch is you have to have high lockpicking level to open them. You can make 100-200k groschen from these two chests alone (possibly even more).

1 correction - Moving stolen items to horse doesn't help they get confiscated anyway. And as an additional tip Play the Chumps on the River contest to improve archery quickly, it's relatively easy to do well even with lvl 1 bow skill, just don't go too crazy with the bets until you get the hang of it. each round can get you 20 - 30% skill completion (depending on skill and size of bet) and if you win can score you 20 - 100 coins for a bit of an early income boost.

I watched a vid, where you can make like 150,000 in prologue alone - at start, don't talk to Father, go around stealthily killing peeps and looting them, once all done, put the items in stash then do the guards and loot them, put items in stash and continue story till you're told to run - but don't run, do your best to kill the 2 enemies chasing you down the hill from behind, loot their corpse, kill more enemies below, loot them - put items on the ground and explore - not in direction to continue, but to get as much loot as possible, kill all horses except yours - once you done, loot everything back, get on horse, and continue story - stash the gear that you don't want to sell back at your old house in Skalitz for later

Here is a tip to leveling up your lockpicking skill very very fast... once you awake in Rattay, talk to the Miller about learning the trade of lockpicking. He'll bring you to an empty chest that you can pick open. But, here is the catch, you can pick the lock on the chest an unlimited amount of times.. (1) Simply unlock it with your pick. (2) Make sure you open it. (3) Just turn away from the chest, (4) Face the chest, and it should be locked once more. (5) Repeat as much as desired. It is absolutely the best way to level up your lockpicking skill. Best to do at night in between quests. Good luck to all.

Also remember to learn master blocks from Bernard. They unlock after speaking to bailiff, and they make fights much easier. Lots of people don't know about it and then think fights are terrible. Also I highly recommend getting familiar with a bow. It's good even at short distances if you have good armor.

Great tips, I've only got a few hours in, so very helpful. My tip for lockpicking for those on PC: If you have an adjustable speed mouse, slow it way down and you'll be better able to stay on target when you push to spin the lock

Another tip is that in the game you can’t stack potion effects unless you apply the potion to say some garlic or other cheap foodstuff. Say you apply 2 bard potion to 2 garlic. Eat them and they will stack. This won’t work if you’re trying to stack different kind of potions, it only works if it’s the same one.

It does get frustrating, but I've never loved a game to such an extent that I'd push past every bug just to continue through the same sequence for 20 minutes until it works properly. I'll admit, some of the bugs are so funny that they make this an authentic PC title.

Great tips... if I may add one. If bandits surrender during fight, then try and spare them letting them go. Cool feature is that if you stumble upon the same bandit later, then he might leave you be cause he learned his lesson the first time. Other things can happen too, but I will let people experience that themselves 😉

But looting bodies is seen as something bad in the game, and it will hit your rep... But that is what I find cool with the game. Your actions carries weight. If I play as an honorable knight, people may like me. But I won’t gain much gold. If I play in a barbaric way. Then people will fear me. But I will most likely also have much more gold... So many cool ways to play this game. There is something for everyone😊

A tip in brewing potions, you can pour the starter ingredients in to the pot and grind everything necessary before starting the bellows and cooking, that way the brewing process goes much smoother.

A good way to never get searched by guards and stuff, is to have some fancy clothes and the flower power perk ( of course you can get more later on but it's enough early in the game ) so if you are in a city or anywhere like that, make sure you have flowers and wear clothes enough to have 15/16 charisma, with that you can always tell the guards you work for sir radzig

An extension of #5: In the first level, it stays 1030, no matter how long you take. So you can go around the whole town and pick it clean of plants before starting the plot-directed activities. Not only does this mean you have more buying / trading power before things kick off, but there are usually enough herbs there to level up past the point you get the strength bonus. I consider this loophole to be a way to compensate for how you start out as a young male blacksmith's apprentice who somehow manages to have no strength or conditioning to speak of even though you'd almost certainly have spent your youth hauling coal, carrying water, wielding tools, and manning the bellows.

Never ignore haggling, even when its a small purchase. You can save tons of money that way. Also, if its a small purchase, you can haggle to where you’re paying MORE money to whatever trader you’re talking to, which increases your reputation, which makes it easier to bargain with everyone else later on the bigger purchases, (which is totally worth it, I’ve had deals where it was worth 2k groschen and I haggled up to 4.5k using high charisma and high reputation with the town).

Early game dont wear plate armor as you likely wont have the strength to use it effectively and it will reduce your loot intake, rather sell it or keep it in storage until you are much stronger. Also remember to go to the bathhouse every so often as all the benefits provided there increase speak and persuasion skills for several days and it also repairs your clothes for relatively cheap (or free with a perk).

Also you can stealth kill with the dagger, and if you adjust your mouse DPI to be in sync with the turn speed of the lock lockpicking is easier. If your mouse is too sensitive, even the easiest locks will be near impossible to pick.

Take part in the archery contests. First 3-4 arrows should allow to hone in on the bullseye. For the remaining shots, just hold down your mouse and don't move. Guaranteed easy money and you can restart it over and over.

+Logitech G A very good way to earn groschen is to haggle for repairs of ALL the loot and to also haggle when selling; At first, i always haggled like this: half, half, and so on ...until they agreed...and they allways agreedXD, with time i could be bolder when haggling. I made a heap of groschen in no time. (something like 39 hours in and have like 23k already, a heap of noble and milanese armour, the queen's sword from that quest and other expensive weapons, a full noble outfit for my horse and me, etc.) PS. There is a LOT of combat with bandits and cumans involved with this method.Xb On the other hand: with this method i also I became a master in combat and could beat the beggar knight in one on one combat on my first try.

i managed to undestand the treasure maps and there is several of them, i think it's pretty cool trying to find them cuz each loot comes with a part of the Warhorse armour and it's one of them best if not the best ypu can get and as far as i know going treasure hunting is the only way of getting it, i realized of it after the second treasure.

yeah it was a bug originally. guards would make a comment about taking your stolen goods (they checked both inventories) but couldn't take anything from your horse. was patched in 1.3 i think.

Some quick tips for new players at the beginning stages of the game. These are some legit ways to earn money without exploiting any glitches in the game. Although, I'm definitely going to try the Skallitz glitch Mr. Spock pointed out in his comment. Here's what I got, a) Find Milan at the market sqaure in Rattay. You can fight him everyday , beat him in an easy brawl , and just loot him. Usually he carries about 30-40 bucks with him and also has quite decent equipment on him. Don't kill him so that you can repeat this. b) Sell stolen goods by first storing them in a chest at your place in Rattay. Then once the red hand is removed, you can just sell it anywhere. c) Before you enter the Rattay Tournament, make sure to practise all weapons with Bernard. This helps you win the tournament. The Rattay miller allows you to place a bet on winning the tournament, so that's a few easy bucks. d) You can save and sleep at a Bath-house - without any charges :) Save those schwapps. I honestly never even had to use one. e) Practice haggling. It gets you a good negotiation price. Also ensure you are clean , and have the highest possible Charisma before going to the trader. f) Bernard pays you to bring Cuman ear's. So once you are ready with some fighting skills, go bandit hunting. g) When you meet the Bailiff for the first time, there's a noble's room beside where he is seated. Sneak in there and you'll find some 6-7 books. Each book can easily fetch you about 15-20 bucks.

I found that going out at the beginning and looting all the ancient treasure map sites is a great way to balance out the game's difficulty level. There's one chest that's a very hard chest if memory serves. But otherwise, good strategic move.

Practice with the miller because the box can be lockpicked an infinite amount of times, so it is both increasing lockpicking and helping you get better at it.

Free saving can be done by leveling speech to 8 and taking the 'Troubadour' perk. This lets you use bathwenches for free after which the game saves. It's much quicker than organizing a stay at an inn.

Here is a tip, if you find some bandit's or Cuman's weapon try to use the grindstone to raise the weapon's condition. It also raises the value of the weapon. Good to sell to a weapon's trader who just so happen to have a lot of groschen.

Another tip- the absolute fastest way to level weapons, defence and warfare is to train with Bernard at Rattay. It will give you the option of learning master strikes on each weapon. Go through the sequence on master strikes on each weapon with Bernard and each time you do this it will gain you one level up on that weapon, until you get to about level 8 when it takes about 1.8 times to get one. So going through it 25-30 times with each weapon will max out that weapon. You can buy levels at 5, 10 and 15 and add perks as you go. This seems to work fastest if you always perform three consecutive perfect master strikes in each training session. For example doing three on levels 1-8 always nets you a level, but if you mess one up and have to have four tries to get three you may not level up.

Its much easier to not steal from any duelist, and to not kill them. This way you will meet them over and over threw out your play and get more experience, rewards, and reputation as well as honor. If you are new to the game, do not get discourage because of the fighting style. Henry learns to fight better the more he uses what ever weapon he has, same for special moves, blocks, and parries. At first you will not be able to do any of them, you have to do some of the story, then pay to learn them from trainers. After that, you will be a much better fighter, and the game will be so much more fun. So dont give up just because you do not like the fighting system, it gets better.

Easy for you to say about the lock picking, I hear that it's exceptionally easier for PC players. Us console players continue to suffer, even on simplified mode. If there's ever a main quest that requires me to lock pick something in order to continue, I'm probably just going to give up on the game altogether haha. Actually I agree with their tip, even on consoles which is what I play on. If you enter the lock picking mini game and the sweet spot isn't right around the center, back out and keep trying until it is. Sometimes I feel you barely have to move the right stick when that sweet spot is near the center, and for me it makes it significantly easier. I absolutely hated lock picking when I first started the game. I too got so frustrated that I wanted to just toss my controller, but trust me as you do it more and level up the skill it gets much easier. Also there's a perk that gives you a boost when drunk, which I highly recommend. The way I like to use the perk is to use a schnapps before trying to pick harder locks, which not only saves the game in case you screw up but also triggers the perk making the process easier. The perk will not only make the easier locks a little more simple, but it can also let you open locks that you otherwise might not have the skill to attempt. Here are some tips to help raise your lock pick skill. Go around at night and pick open doors. Another fun thing to do is pick the lock on a house at night, lure the resident outside, then when they go back inside they lock the door and you can repeat the process. The bath house near Peshek's mill is a nice place to pick locks too, there are multiple doors you can pick and they all seem to reset every day. If you really wanted, you could set yourself a nightly routine for picking a bunch of doors. Maybe start at the bath house, then go into Rattay and start picking some doors. I'm sure others have better tips, but what I listed worked well for me without it being too tedious.

Picking locks - on PC I play with Xbox controller for the main game but switch to mouse and keys for lock picking and arrow shooting contests. Lock picking on a mouse is so much easier. Press D, click the LMB and slowly move the mouse in the circle. It works almost every time.
