She's actually one of the very few "nepotism" models that acknowledges this and still works hard for her career. If at that level where Cindy Crawford is your mom, Naomi Campbell your godmother, and you still are subject to some of the evils of the modeling world ... it speaks volumes that it can affect everyone. I do believe Kaia has her own personal struggle with mental health. That being said, I do think being the daughter of Cindy Crawford does help her feel more secure in the industry. The photographers know her, the same stylists that dressed and did hair on Cindy is now working with her and of course she's working with many of the same designers that have much respect for Crawford. I'm sure if Kaia spoke out about something, people would take her seriously and she wouldn't be risking her career. There is a level of security there whether she recognizes it or not.

I’m saying this as someone who interned at Love magazine (which is a part of conde Nast which owns vogue) as well as worked with some designers. Unfortunately saw the reality of the industry first hand. The devil wears prada ain’t nothing compared to what goes on. It’s ridiculous and makes me so angry, especially as everyone else worships the industry (which I used to) because we are programmed that way! But it’s genuinely horrific the things that go on. And I don’t know what I expected when the industry is literally good for nothing except ego. We need it to go, not just change, go.

Exactly my thoughts! This world is full of women who think they're not good enough because they don't live up to the beauty ideal shoved into our faces day in and day out. It's impossible to escape. It doesn't benefit anyone except the greedy big corporations that own ALL the beauty brands.
@S04P
@S04P 3 жыл бұрын
These models are just as much victims of beauty ideals as us regular people are, perhaps even more. They have to make themselves look as “perfect” as possible at all times, or they’ll end up being scrutinized by thousands of people (unlike the rest of us). They are not the ones that create beauty standards, the companies that profit off of everyone’s insecurities are. Most models are recruited at a young, vulnerable age when they have perfect, wrinkle free skin, slim figures, and other features that companies push as the ideal. Then, as they grow older, they are forced to try to keep up with their younger selves which is virtually impossible. If you want to blame anyone, blame the beauty companies that decide what standards to push so they can take your money, not the models that get put into this world.

But that’s the thing. It’s not really the models fault( like how they’re forced to starve or called plus sized model when they have an average weight). The company’s are at fault. @@mediaclipszone4184 You clearly know nothing about mental health with all your gatekeeping. People mask and hide their mental health all the time, until you hear that something terrible happened to them or they had to quit their job...and as most of these girls mentioned, the models usually DO quit after 5 years because their mental health took such a hit. The ignorance you have to believe that only YOU can determine when someone else has mental health issues based on whether YOU see them. You are dangerously ignorant. If your family and friends were in trouble, you wouldn't even know.

Love this! People diss the social media models / age but the great part is seeing lots of models’ vlogs and vids like these and witness their personalities, intelligence, drive, interests... Objectification of women is still an issue and has caused myself mental health issues too.

This is beautiful. I’m glad I came across this even though I am subscribed to this channel. I needed to hear this, because I am battling with my thoughts about myself and how I don’t feel beautiful. It has come down to my somewhat called boyfriend , he makes me feel Insecure. I dont make him feel bad about himself, I try to uplift him up. But anyways , why am I so much better without him, he’s the worst person I’ve ever met, because of that, I really don’t want to feel insecure

The thing is, is that the majority of human beings are in jobs where they are being held up to unrealistic standards of perfection, maybe not regarding looks but regarding job performance. They are also afraid of being replaced, but they are making far less money than all of you are making. In that five years you are talking about, you can probably accumulate more money than the rest of us can in a lifetime.
