Once you ignore the fake mAh ratings on the power bank products, they are all pretty good, and all produce about the same power for a given weight. Lion batteries all produce about the same power per gram, and the chipsets used in the device are all about the same. The only real difference is the quality of the case and the connector ports.

I bet the brs didn’t make the list because once you buy one, it last for so long. Definitely a one and done product for the type of person who would buy it. I don’t think that person would be interested in something like a jetboil. But on the other hand, the trekology pillow is something someone would switch out depending on the trip. It also doesn’t last as long as the brs. Mine developed a slow leak after couple years and my gf’s only 6 months. But it’s insane value, you can buy almost 3 areos for one trekology.

Bought a set of Frog Togs and day one ripped. Not doing anything remotely as extreme as you. So 25 bucks in the trash. I actually wear a rain jacket in rain as part of my daily grind and not just at play, so why not get something decent and not 'disposable' that will fail, as I do with winter jackets ? Sales are great for that BTW and on a budget it's amazing to find like new name brands at second hand stores or Good Wiill and Salvation Army stores as well. A no brainer. My BRS has been rocking for about 8 years, I can't see why I would get anything bigger for basically heating up water or the occasional soup mix. The Toaks 750, mine with bail, love my bail, is another item that remains in my decade old set up. Have other pots, other brands some with covers that actually seat better, not totally secure, but then it's a pain to open to check the contents....but the bail for me is definitely worth it. We cook on fires as well as stoves as canister fuel is not infallible, so there is that. The cover you showed will sell like hot cakes. I can't sleep on air pillows at all. Useless to me. I got a child size zip pillow case, some down fill and a bit of memory foam and created my own. I bring an ultra lite down, water resistant poncho blanket always and wrap that around the pillow creating a head rest that is Goldie locks for me, keeps my head warm by creating a little hood flap with the snaps and makes a nice warm poncho to wake up too, toss on proper to go pee in the wee hours as well. My ultra slim 10,000 mAh battery bank has cords attached, so far so good. I bring one small C incase. I am surprised the Nightcore headlamp with shock cord dud not make the list. One of the more handy bits of kit. I am still sticking with my Be Free and the pairing Hydropak Seeker bladders available. The wide mouth and bladders alone have proved their worth. I got a .01 micro sock for the filter itself, which really saves it's integrity. Easy clean as well. I stocked up on these when they were cheap. I love that everything is so compact and multi purpose. The bladders can hold hot water or stand being frozen or hold ice which morphs them into a medical item. I pack a 1 and 2L incase we need extra water and for the above reason. I like that I can hang the 2L because it has attachment points and use it for a wash up station. I carry my 1L with filter in a packable nylon cross body bottle sling, because I hate digging for my water around my back. Or stopping to drink. I just clip it on my pack straps so it doesn't flop around. Solves the issue for those who hate using these floppy bladders all together. When unfolded, the sling has a front pocket made from the flap where my electrolytes live. Easy to find and use. Another bonus is it takes weight off my back and shoulders. I brink one long camp hand towel that doubles as a scarf sometimes and two bandanas that cover many application, one forcwear, one for wash and dry. I will check out those high absorb sponges they may be better. Thank you.

Folks like the frog toggs because it’s light. If it was just as durable (i.e. not durable and tears easily) but way heavier no one would use it. They put up with the durability because it’s so light and cheap. Plus they ain’t using it often, it mostly stays in a pack pocket until it starts raining.
@HostileTakeover2Ай бұрын
@@boredandagitated It's dead weight if it can't even last a full outing. My Marmot rain jacket is only 1.5oz heavier than the Toggs UL jacket (and lighter than the non-UL) and has held up through two separate blizzards, sleet, gale force winds, and several years of general rain & snow. I don't even bother with rain pants anymore. If I was using Toggs only for emergency rain, maybe. But for that use-case I'd rather go with a poncho which is even lighter and is more waterproof.
