If I remember back correctly the first paintings I was ever “paid” for were some pictures I did for my sister and cousins for the doll houses that they were getting for Christmas. My Grandparents were making doll houses for the girls and I was asked to make some pictures for them. I have often thought about pursuing this avenue for creating small art for dolls and similar projects. You should think about this as your pictures are simply wonderful! Happy New Year’s to you and yours!

Man, I do love watching other people work on tiny paintings. It’s fun to see the design choices, how they reduce a concept to as few of elements as possible. And if it’s a group of them, right in the middle where the creative juices are flowing and they find their groove and just go for it. When that restriction (size) that they put on themselves begins to inspire them and give them more ideas. It’s such a great exercise for composition and readability. Definitely making me want to cut down some paper. I would consider all of these successes. Plus it’s undeniable that you enjoyed yourself which I’ll admit are my favorite videos. I really hope you consider trying to make the water one into a repeatable pattern with some (I imagine) serious finagling in photoshop. It would be so cool and cute!
