What makes the Dokos wreck so amazing for me. Is the fact that scholars were going by artwork that depicted ships from that time as a best guess for what they looked like. This wreck is so well preserved that it confirmed how these vessels were built.

The Hellenistic period is the time of Alexander's successors from 330 to 30 BC. A shipwreck dating back to 2200 BC is definitely not of the Hellenistic period, but rather of the Cycladic - Minoan period and possibly older than that.

That's fascinating. Now.... Can someone explain why shipwrecks this old still exist at the bottom of the oceans around the world .... But the Titanic, which went down recently is (by all accounts) falling apart and will completely disappear in just a few years?

The author of this video misled you by using wrong pictures. F.e. Dokos wreck is represented by just the cargo, because the hull completely degradated. While telling about Dokos wreck the author illustrated it with picture of OTHER ancient wreck found in Black sea in 2017. Due to specific environmental conditions its preservation is really unique. But author says nothing about this ship which is considered to be one of the oldest preserved sunken ship ever found (Google it)🤦‍♂️ Only small fragments of hulls usually survive through the millenia as it was in case of Uluburun or Gelidonya wrecks. And the video episode about Uluburun is accompanied with picture of MODERN REPLICA of this ship. I put dislike to the video (( 0:34

The Titanic succumbed to less than optimal conditions and temperatures. Additionally its been documented that new organisms have been found on the titanic and are quite literally conusming large portions of metal! Crazy how bacteria and near microscopic organisms have destroyed vasts assemblies of the shipwreck.

Why do they show a photo of the Black Sea shipwreck as the Dokos shipwreck. The Dokos wreck has no remaining wood. How many other mistakes are in this vid? Probably many, many erroneous statements. This vid should be taken down.
