I will say, I'm a northerner who's lived in the south for about 20 years now (in very Tory-ville Surrey, and work in London) and I don't think I've ever seen someone have fruit in their pint, only in Coke, cocktail or soft drinks - think that's just one of those things we were told and everyone accepts it as truth, but really most people down here would react the same way, but just a posher accent.
