don't really see it that way. This was simply a mediocre draft class, which still happens, coupled with teams in the top 10 making horrible decisions. On its own, this says nothing about how the overall ability level has evolved, there will simply always be good years and bad years and 2009 happened to be not a good one. I mean two years after this, the draft featured way more electric talent than the usual draft nowadays does and that doesn't mean that skill and athleticism have gone down either.

Really not the case. There are bad classes every now and then. It doesnt mean in 15 years guys have gotten leaps and bounds more talented. Hyperbole at its finest. That's like saying in 20 years something has evolved in biology. Not the way it works. Guys in 2009 were just as talented they just didn't play in todays offense friendly game and like I said bad classes happen.
