This is what I do whenever I get a new phone or do a factory reset. I've been doing it for years. I've gotten into 'discusstions' with developers over the need for their apps to know my location just to use an equalizer app for my Bluetooth headsets. Just like I disable or uninstall unwanted apps that come on my phones and I don't use them or have a use for them. I also turn on Do Not Disturb and set it to only allow contacts to ring through.

Why can't we start demanding these companies not have these platforms on their phones? Will SOME COMPANY please do this....there is a huge market that wants big tech's prying eyes out of their lives.

The app companies pay the manufacturers far more than we ever could. The only option is to vote with your wallet and only buy models not embracing this sharp practice, but not enough folk are tech savvy or think they have nothing to hide, so won't try to change the biased system. Only when it starts to hit the manufacturers' profit margin will things change.

The problem is we LET them do this a LONG time ago. Now they're too big to fail. Did you know they have so much power and control that they can shut you out of the internet completely? You should do a more detailed video about the system apps that do not need permissions and why and what each one is for. I knew all this years ago but many people do not as some system apps do not need the permissions they do. If you enable developer settings half of this can be done under there. If you use a vpn add apks for games or ect I have never had a problem with the install unknown apps. If you have a VPN and correct virus/malware protection then it is not an issue. If you report the ads over and over then ads stop all together. Buy an adblocker if it doesnt work. I am tired of my privacy being invaded so I buy my unlocked and have done all this for years. I have location turned off for all even system apps. I think you should explain to regular folks about system apps and what they are doing with your permissions and why to turn them off. I root my phone as well because even samsung adds bloatware now. After last year that was the last straw for me.
@sheyleaison7052 жыл бұрын
I thought it was "illegal" technically to root a phone? oram I misunderstanding something about rooting a phone?

I had to look up a lot of the apps just to see what they were! Still confused about many of them. At first I was afraid when I tried to turn or disable an app and got that warning that it might mess up my device if I disabled or deleted stuff. What can I say? I'm older and not tech savvy in these times.
@melissathompson55362 жыл бұрын
@@lorenrobertson8039 please do not down yourself honey. I am 45 years old and if I can do it and I've had four strokes in the last 3 years that anybody can do it. I know it's confusing what it says not to turn off the apps because it will mess with the system but trust me it will not. It's just their own security measure that's attached to Knox built in security which is a joke and does nothing to prevent you from getting viruses or malware anything like that when your phone. If I can do it you can do it. Don't let the phone fool you into thinking that just because you disable something that you don't need on there that it's not okay to remove it. Something's you actually need which is why I asked for them to make a complete list for everybody. But I don't use Google except for on here just because it's attached to my Gmail and that's how I login. Otherwise I use a different entire secure email system and browser. My phone is actually more secure and more encrypted then most people's computers. But it was my choice to do that because I was tired of getting thousands of nasty sexual stuff in my emails and getting nasty text messages from people from other countries. All they do is gather your information online and if they send you a text message just forward it before you block it to 7726. If you click on that text message anywhere it will come up with a blank page and it will insert all kinds of stuff into your phone. I've been building my own for years and just got tired of getting all this stuff before then so I'll take a piece of one here in a piece of one there and make my own. One guy on here actually shows how to do it and I can't remember the video but if I can find it I will put it on here for you to see. Androids themselves are not that hard to work on and fix. It's just a matter of patience and fine hand skill. Trust me the phone's not going to shut down or no apps are going to be wonky if you disable the ones you don't want. One of the things I did early on was to purchase the software online so that I could get into the phone and do it all at one time instead of piece by piece. Me and three friends went in and purchased the software and share the cost which was it a lot of money anyway but back then it was a lot when I do not have much. But we shared it all and it all worked out for the best so that's also a good starting point. There are some really good videos on here about that software as well. There's so many different types I would just confuse you honestly if I kept going on about them. IPhones and iPads I can fix but I do not like them at all. I can still jailbreak them which is the term for getting into them and fiddling around and customizing and making it your own. While the term rooting is for Androids. If you need any help just let me know I'll help you through it. You're never too old just remember that. And like I said if my 90 year old brain when I'm 45 can do it that I have 100% confidence you can. It's never an easy thing to be unsure and I have always thrown my pride to the side just to ask for help. That's always been a hard thing for me to do but I've done it. Don't let the phone rule you, you rule the phone.
@melissathompson55362 жыл бұрын
@@sheyleaison705 it's not illegal to do it. All it does is make your warranty invalid but if you're out of warranty then it doesn't matter. Only if that is a concern. It's your phone you bought it you paid for it and you can do whatever you want with it. It's only the warranty like I said. Mine is out of warranty so I don't care. The warranty didn't do anything anyway. That's why I don't even buy the insurance because it's a rip-off. I can show you pictures of how Asurian refurbishes their phones. You would be horrified. Changing battery expiration dates to suit their needs, missing screws and parts, 3 layers of glue over the speakers. It's a travesty really how they fool people.
