Great video! Another book recommendation for the beginner to intermediate levels to practice sight reading would be Children's album (also published as Children's notebook) by Shostakovich. The pieces start from relatively easy and move to the more intricate ones covering various techniques and a range of scales. The best feature of the pieces is Shostakovich's use of modulations and surprising harmonic choices, they are superb and make you want to explore and practice more. He also engages the whole keyboard from the lowest to the highest register right from the start, so one can improve their knowledge of piano "geography"

I just discovered a series of children's piano books called Microcosm by Bartok. I think they are designed for the children to develop sight reading ability without getting bored. I'm going to try using the microcosm series for a year or so and see if it's really the holy grail of sight reading.

thanks for the tips, as one who tends to like improvising but dislikes sight reading, maybe I'll try to give it another go.
