This Halloween, we go back into the deep waters of Japan to look at some interesting and strange creatures, as well as some other unusual observations.
Japanese waters are home to rich arrays of wildlife and marine flora, and Japan has long been a leader in the underwater technology required to properly research deepwater environments. These are nine fascinating, and some truly bizarre, ROV (remotely operated vehicle) discoveries from Japan's marine ecosystems.

Love seeing interesting deep water creatures. With that said I think this vid would be a great ten minute vid but I find myself fast forwarding thru the ten minute clips of same thing after minute or two. Would be different if something happens but nothing does so minute or two per creature good for me.

Thanks for the honest feedback! It seems some people prefer completely uncut encounters and some prefer abridged cuts for a faster viewing experience. How I edit these videos is always evolving based on what the people want!

I found that blob to be very fascinating, but him, I would have liked to know what he was breathing through, & how it moved. It seemed completely oblivious.

I don't know if those long vertical fish during the whalebone segment are oarfish or what but that scene coupled with the music is hauntingly beautiful. And the track that starts with the bass and leads into the blobfish is sad and beautiful as well. It's like it captures that poor fishes' existential crisis

Hmm, wouldn't we all love to know what that whirlpool experiment was all about!---I wonder what kind of thought processes that sea bass has?---Great shot of that whale bone...nothing gets wasted.---I wonder what classifies that basket as a 'star'?

*It's Halloween!* 🎃 Beware the deep-sea boogey-shark, red eyes, colossal jaw! 🦈 I saw it out at sea tonight as moonbeams hit the shore.. 🌙 _"Hey! Come on in, the water's fine!"_ Fangs glistened through its grin.. I froze in fear, it swam so near, propelled by massive fin! And then it beached! 😱 Oh more fool me for letting out a scream.. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 'Twas my good buddy, LRJ.. *dressed up for HALLOWEEN!* 🦑💚

The whirlpool clip is excessively strange! What on earth could trigger a mini whirlpool at such depths and maintain it? Oh dear this is going to really bug me!🐙

True. Some really resemble cucumber but not green and not even smooth skinned with even more alien interior anatomy. And that just tip of the iceberg of sea cucumber diversity

It is 3:36 in the morning in Saudi Arabia.. and I am watching and feeling sleepy in addition to that.. it was not welcome to sacrifice anything on my comfort and sleep.. But at the beginning of minute 5:33 I didn't feel sleepy or tired. Nothing in my life has surprised me like this shot!! It occurred to me that it might be an electric elevator for microorganisms and plankton to ascend... I don't know, it might be a drowsiness effect.
