I’m a groomer and I groom lots of poodles. My poodles love to be groomed and we have a good time with the process. The secret is to start early. Ten weeks old is good. Also, I’ve owned poodles for the last 35 years. A well groomed dog is a wonderful thing and the dogs know this simple truth. 😊

Agreed! My boy loves going to the groomers & they love him! Just a few weeks ago at his latest groom, when I pick him up I always ask how did he go? They said - oh he’s such a good boy, he fell asleep while I was grooming him today. And he loves saying hi to all the other dogs there for their grooming. - I started him early and I often brush him myself, so it’s relaxing and great bonding time. He’s the best in my life, and I am so thankful for him in my life. ❤❤❤

My little toy poodle does not like the cold weather. He actually loves snuggling deep in the covers where my heat blanket is. He also loves to sleep‼️ But everything else is pretty spot on. 😂

Our standard poodle has no issue wearing her harness. We started her on one at 11 weeks. She also wears a vest while outdoors during deer season. And she hunts grouse with me. They are bred to be retrievers, after all.

Same with mine… I started her at 12 weeks with a harness too and now she won’t go outside without it.

arnesses help prevent collapsed trachea and small poodles can get this.

Too funny....I recall taking my Standard Beau to the range the first time....I was wondering how he would react. Well...driving down one of the roadways to the pistol range, several shotguns began firing on the skeet range....well, Beau basically got so excited he went across the Jeep onto my lap and had his head out the window....it was like he was saying "shotgun music daddy!".....I have three, and none of them flinch or react negatively to loud noises.....and they love trips to the range.

I’ve owned poodles my entire life. I took my black toy to the beach. She could not stand it very long but loved it. Especially the sand crabs. I say they are dogs not toys and not frou frou. Don’t expect anything but dog behavior. Even toy poodle dogs will chase squirrels, balls, kids, herd farm animals. Very high prey drive because bred for hunting. My new puppy climbed over a four foot gate the first night she was home. She was 8 weeks old. I didn’t want her to get used to sleeping with me. She slept with me. 😂

My micro Bernedoodle is 75% poodle. He's exactly like this. I feel like I've abused him when I take him to the groomer.

Almost all of this (except the grooming/ear cleaning horror) applies to all dogs. I love poodles and have had several of different sizes and colours. Yes, they are very sensitive and intelligent, but so are other breeds.

This video is so full of incorrect info that it's not just bad, it could be damaging. I have had (and groomed) poodles for over 30 years, bred them for 8 years and have been a certified dog trainer. While there are bits of this video that have some truth, these truths are true of some individuals of all breeds and while poodles do align with many traits of the breed (none of which are represented here) they are also very individual. I urge anyone watching this video who is considering getting (or ruling out) a poodle to disregard this video entirely and to do some research from reliable sources. I am appalled at this irresponsible and completely misleading video.
