Despite La Tech playing well most of the game. Three reasons why Texas won. 1. The plays of Douglas Hodo in the Outfield. 2. Eric Kennedy timely hit. The shift outward hurt them. 3. Stevens holding on. Texas has their struggles in the bullpen. Stevens has had trouble, but today he went back to his 2021 clutch self.

@@jimjoneston1893 there was a warning but I agree. Doesnt matter if its an accident. If you are hitting batters at an unreasonable rate it becomes a safety issue. Plus, even before and after the warning he was throwing a lot od high inside fast balls. If a pitcher is going to brush guys back with chin music and cant avoid hitting them with his off speed. Its not just a safety thing, it interferes with the game. A batter can't focus on hitting if a pitcher is allowed to use the ball as an intimidation method.

What an easy game for hitters these days. No threat, no worry, wear enough padding to play football and just dig in and wait. When I pitched HS and D1 in the late 70s and 80s, if a hitter even tried to dig in his back foot he was going down.

@@constant2593 Oh I get it, there were a couple of Cats I did not want to hit against, one was Sid Fernandez (Former Met) who we played in the 1980 Legion WS. But I grew up watching and learning from guys like Drysdale, Gibson and Nolan Ryan and the attitude was F**k the hitter, you are not digging in. Head hunting never worked anyway cuz most guys could duck away. If I wanted to hit a cat, I threw for the back, knee or hip.
