How would you rate the burmeister system compared to the B&W in the Polestar 3? I’ve already read it’s not quite as good, but is it close? I really am crippled with indecision between this and the polestar 3

I'm with you in deciding between these 2 cars. I'm leaning towards the polestar simply because I hate how things which come standard on something like a toyota aygo are a cost option on the porsche. Unacceptable in my eyes

@ I agree, and was leaning towards the Polestar myself because it’s reviewed to be quieter and the B&W system is broadly considered among the best in the entire industry. But I do like the interior of the Macan more, I like the ‘augmented reality’ HUD, the ability to switch drive modes quickly on the wheel, and the ability to put Apple Maps in the drivers display (instead of google maps). Also, this is a bit smaller (we’re just a couple with no kids) and comes in cooler colours. I really don’t know what I’m going to do 😂😂 ultimately will have to test drive both, and tbh I’ll wait for a few software updates for the polestar. Not having distance control for the cruise control is weird, and the steering wheel buttons situation looks ridiculous. Aaand having to go deep into menus just to switch the suspension firmness is dumb. I like to do that on the go

We are moving away from the Polestar 3. While test driving the polestar we experienced a sound and safety bug. Got no sound whatsoever ( so really nothing) but also none of the safety systems were working. After 2 resets and nothing helping we had to return to the dealer. After mentioning this they said they are aware but are a small manufacturer and couldn’t postpone the release because they hadn’t the budget as Volvo does. An honest answer but not very assuring.

@ not at all. Can I ask what country you’re in?

Are you going to test the EX90 soon?

@@BabyKermit_ as soon as Volvo have press cars available, which isn’t before February at the earliest I am guessing.

Nice overview, and I agree with most, but I completely disagree on the non-touch panel which they introduced also on the facelifted Cayenne. The click of the whole panel is not at all intuitive, and sounds and feels like a horribly cheap massive clunck as opposed to tactile haptic luxurious touch in the pre-facelift. When you are used to smoothly touching the buttons on the panel, this moving panel is also ergonomically a disaster. In prefacelift they also had this aluminium bar that separated two rows of buttons and this provided that little “support” to the fingers to help navigate on the panel and hit the right buttons almost without taking eyes off the road. Every time I press a button on this new panel, the force needed to apply on the panel to make it move downwards l realise that eyes are off the road longer and often the finger moves over another button as the panel is slippery you need whole body force to “click” it. They literally took the worst from both worlds, touchpanel and buttons and combined the poorest characteristics of both together.👎 The real physicsl buttons are a peach though 👍

Do you feel like the macan is practical enough for you?

Looks like Macan EV has NOTHING good…

Why doesn’t the car come with basic options. That’s the question.

It’s a Porsche 😀

Dealers. Options are to placate and satisfy dealers. If you notice, the EV manufacturers who sell directly to the public come with the most standard options by far. They have 3 or 4 options at the most. And they're basically exterior color, tires and interior colors.
@mattx42537 күн бұрын
@ this isn’t the reason. The reason is because if you have lots of configurations then you have to get the car tested for emissions in multiple configurations in the EU. Direct to market sales models are about efficiency in cost. You can afford to include everything if you don’t have to suffer needless cost. Tesla is a good example of this. Porsche is the opposite. You end up with a car with shit build quality and reliability and high cost in the name of personalization of the car. BMW on the other hand is a middle ground where you can get both personalization but options packs are sensible.
