Fellow INFJ here! Used to work in digital marketing and had the exact struggles where I didn’t find the work I did meaningful to me. Ended up enrolling in an MA programme to pursue my passion. I’m almost done with my MA programme and it has been extremely tiring but also extremely rewarding. I’m hoping to pivot to something related to my MA and while I might have to take a pay cut and/or I might go back to my previous industry at least I have no regrets trying to pursue my passion 😊 I’ve learned that I would rather try and fail than to not try at all. How you’ll get to find something meaningful too 💪🏼

@@yuldaze For the most part of my programme I worked part-time while studying so that helped to alleviate some financial worries but it has been exhausting ngl! But I told myself if I don’t do it now I probably won’t have the chance/drive to pursue it in future. My MA programme is in the social sciences which was also what I studied for my BA. Even though my previous full time job in digital marketing is quite different from the social sciences, I don’t feel the work experience or education was a waste. Everything ends up and it’s all part of the journey :)

@@yuldaze Happy to share :) Stayed in the same finance role as I wasn't prepared to forgo my years of experience and start from scratch. The next best option for me was to work in an industry I could find meaning in. Took a salary cut for a year (to transition to healthcare) and when the opportunity arose, moved to a different org with a better package. Yes, took a detour, sacrificed pay and progression for a year+ but I'm back on track now. My thought process at the time was, if I know I'm not happy where I am, the only choice left is to move on. Hope this helps you!

Am also INFJ. Funny thing - I dread office politics so much that I stay away and refuse to know. It became known to the office and I end up being the more neutral person, attracting all the different sides trying to defend themselves 😱🤦🏽‍♀️. Def not one who is motivated to give 100% to be noticed but at the same time cannot stand NOT giving 100% in my work= my biggest struggle. Another struggle - procrastination!! I know I have a deadline yet I am not doing it. So I procrastinate and spend the time being stressed abt procrastinating 🫣

ISTP here. I am pretty oblivious to office drama but that means that I am usually the last to know everything. But yes, totally agree with the part where we need a meaning cause to work on in our career. I was stuck in the same job for many years and finally found what I want to switch to afterwards. Currently, I am also studying part-time. So many people were skeptical on whether I could "make it". But hey, I am still around. Almost hitting 1 year into my course. And still enjoying my new job. Take your time to explore your interests. Don't be afraid to go for a part-time programme if you really have to upskill. All the best!

INFJ here as well and as shared in my previous comment, i work as a HR professional which focus on payroll/ HR Ops. Persoanlly felt that I suit this backend rooe rather than 'front facing' HR roles. (Tested & proven, felt so 'unnatural' when i took on recruitment portfolio). 8years into HR and initially tried to work on being more 'extrovert-ed' but as times goes and being in HR space, I've decided to just be myself and harness the good of being introvert and perhaps look for other scope (i.e. HR analytics or HR Rewards ( Comps & bens) within HR that suits my natural character. :)

Hello fellow INFJ. I used to be ISFJ but then switched to INFJ. I worked in a multinational bank as a financial crime risk assessor (some sort). I’m not a front liner. I like data and analysis and I found that turns out I have strong logic. It is easy for me to understand a process and to which data it relate and if it impacted to other process. If I can improve a process, I feel fulfilled. I look for job that allows me to sit behind a desk all day with my laptop and no need to talk to others 😂. I dislike small talks and phony people. Hate office drama but unfortunately lot of people (in my team) are drama seeker. I don’t like office politics because it makes people with capability lost to people with smart talk. But we could not deny that politics needs strategy and management level need to be great at strategy 😅. I also believe that we need to be brave to just jump and try new things if the opportunity present itself to you, eventhough we are introverts. Hope you’ll find what you are looking for 😊
