I did something similar, except it was Romania. Guy was a sweetheart when I met him in the U.S. Once I got to his country, he was a completely different person. He was sweet and charming most of the time but there were red flags I chose to ignore because I fell in love with him.. sometimes he’d ignore me for a few days on end but I had seen he was active online, or he’d insult me or get mad at me for the smallest things. When I went to Morocco, I saw him get violent with his sister when they had an argument and again he’d get mad at me for little things and call me stupid, but he always apologized and was sweet again. 🤦‍♀️ The roller coaster lasted for about 4 years then I finally was able to be honest with myself and realize he didn’t care for me as I did for him. Shortly after that mess I met my now husband who is a total sweet heart! That guy also tries to contact me sometimes, I blocked him on all my accounts but he recently reached out to my sister asking about me. It’s been almost 10 years now!

This was so hard to watch.. I was with someone that used to treat me like this. Same words, no mercy at all. I do have OCD and now thanks to him PTSD. I would cry my heart out and shake and he wouldn't care and swipe the floor with me exactly in those moments. We had a 30 years age gap, he was older. My heart goes out to Debbie, this is completely unacceptable, now I know. It triggered me so bad. I really liked them and sincerely thought they could work out. Word of advice to anyone out there, do not ignore your gut feelings. They will save you in the end. Speaking from experience was used for a way for my ex to get out of the Jamaican ghetto to come to Canada. He started a relationship with another woman who lived in Canada before he left. As soon as he got to Canada he changed. After a month he was caught cheating, after a month and a half he moved in with her. Thinking back he never wanted to work and never did. He wanted someone to take care or him. And that's who he ended up with. A desperately older white woman who wanted a black Jamaican so badly she was willing to mind him like a child. DO NOT TRUST THEM...very few are genuine.

As a 67 year old women I must say she’s really naive. She could have been smart and told him she moved to Morocco when in reality she would visit the country with a tourist visa for a few months and still had her life organized back in the US. But now she just gave up her life on a 24 year old who could have been her grandson
