I think he was ex armed forces and went on to do a government job that needed security clearance. Something might have aired that jeopardised that, going forward. Think he said he had to assure management of certain things, in order to get his leave to film approved.

I was always surprised Riley was portrayed as the bad guy when he was on the show because I thought it was obvious from the start that Violet was just looking to use him. When it was obvious things were done she even said she was pregnant and had to have a fake miscarriage to explain the no actual baby situation trying to get more sympathy while she was at it. Anyone who goes on this show has to know that ultimately it isn't going to do anything good for their reputation. They just have to ask themselves if it will really be worth a little extra cash and temporary "fame" which will hurt them more than it will ever help them.

Pardon me but there IS another option for the guy.... GET ANOTHER JOB. Not Everyone on the planet watches this corrupt show faithfully, not to be rude but dude is NOT that famous. He can get a job anywhere. Unemployment is high regardless of fake reports, he can do just about Anything else. He's an able bodied male... go work construction, or work in a hospital, or cut grass if you have too. You work and pay your bills, you don't post pity party's online and waste time soliciting pity and attention. If you need a full time job, then your job is to spend full time hours looking for that job(s). What the hell does he think the rest of society has to do? It's actually offensive to hard working Americans. Get off the soap box and go to work. If not, volunteer until you find work. There are Always people who need more or have a much more painful situation than our own. Revive your reputation THAT way.

Every season, TLC finds worse freaks. I find the actors to be merching their sad horrible lives. What am I missing? I didn't see Riley as "the bad guy". In fact I only saw him trying and trying to develop his relationship positively while Violet just kept treating him bad and putting him down verbally. He shouldn't have broken the NDA, we all discovered the truth at the Tell All.

Riley takes accountability while simultaneously blaming others. It is sad to have to sell things you love when you can't make the bills. And worse when you think it is someone else fault. Hopefully he will find peace in all of this and recuperate some of the things he has had to part with.... it won't be the same, but rebuilding can be rewarding. How is his cigar lounge coming along? Rule number 1 don’t go broke for a reality show. The checks not that ppl, the world will judge anyway and no one will care when you are left with a life in shambles. I would never sign a contract giving the permission for a network to paint me any kind of way because they will rarely paint you to be positive. No one forces these people to go on these shows. Do they never watch the show? Not any of them are ever made to look great. TLC basically looks to put up things that will get ratings and they think instead of seeing real normal couples go through this process we want to see crazies that melt down and treat each other awful or basically become a toy for the other person to manipulate. Until they change the show to be truthful and show good things about people along with some faults it would not be advisable for a normal person to do these shows.

I am not buying it. Is Riley saying that he was fired or demoted from his job because of the show? Why would they do that? He never said who he works for and he wasn't shown to be "a bad guy' really. Violet wasn't made to look like a victim and its his personal life and has nothing to do with his job. If his employer really is somehow trying to punish him for being on the show he should sue them. Now if his being on the show somehow impacted them or if he'd done something illegal that would be different. I can't see how his being on the show could've impacted them in any way. Now if he wasn't doing his job properly because of the show that would be different. He must've done something that affected his job directly, like being absent from work too much, not getting his work done, something like that but if his story is we're denoting you for being on television, I don't think that's true or legal.

The company may have had other reasons for demoting him, but his appearance on a reality show acting like a jerk is low hanging fruit. He could put the company at risk of losing current and potential customers. I’m sure the 90Day Fiancé contract states that the producers can manipulate the storyline as they see fit, so if there is consequences to the actor they are not liable. The price of reality tv fame is high and only serves people with a plan going in. It also helps if they are self employed.
