182 days for me on the Carnivore way of life... no signs of stopping. I'm interested in getting to at least 1 year on carnivore. My reason for starting in the first place was out of concern for a friend of mine who weighed 360 pounds at the time(nearly two months ago now) has now lost at least 30 pounds just going carnivore, and has decided to join a gym to keep the weight off. Because I decided to use myself as a Guinea pig and lost 20 pounds in my first month, I could show him that it worked on me and with the knowledge that I gained I could tell him about the food I was eating, the reason for eliminating all sugar, and what sugar was doing to us. Ultimately I was able to save my friend, and myself.

I just watched your one week carnivore video, and then clicked on this one. The difference in your appearance is huge! You look younger, healthier, stronger, and just brighter. Not that appearance matters much in itself, but it's such a great indicator of our condition. I can tell you're feeling better, and that's what matters. I wish everyone would try the carnivore diet and learn how much better it's possible to feel. I know so many people who just go around with dozens of health problems, feeling crappy day after day, and they just assume that's normal. Everyone deserves a vibrant life.

Coconut water has electrolytes, but it is also high in sugar. Any of the carbs you are eating (including veggies) will take you out of ketosis. My assumption is that you are doing the diet for medical reasons, if that is the case, I would stick to pure Carnivor as long as you can so that you can heal completely. It could take a while, like a year. Then you can try adding one thing in at a time. Slowly. You were so sick, so this sacrifice is worth it.

I too am new to carnivore. I watch lots of KZbin channels by various people. We’re all learning as we go. And we’re all going to adjust as we go in our own ways. I totally understand about adding a little variety at this stage though I imagine that need could disappear. It’s about our health and mental clarity. And for me it’s about knowing that the animals have had long natural lives and a caring end to their lives. I always think that maps are made after the journey. If we need them at all. If as I suspect that we are designed to eat this way then we just need to trust that our bodies will be our guides. I do like the way you present yourself. Simplicity and honesty is always the best way. 😊

I have been doing Keto for 2 years and started Carnivore on March 17th 2023. I am feeling amazing. My joint pains are gone, and I no longer need to go to the chiropractor. Indigestion is gone as well. I started doing press-ups, and in the first week, I did 35 per day, which was 5 more than I usually do. I have steadily increased the number every day and did 70 within a few days, I can't believe it! What I added was boron, which was suggested by, Dr. Suresh Khidwadker, one of the many doctors I follow on KZbin. That took it to another level. I am 67 years young and will never eat vegetables again. No carbs, absolutely no carbs. I have not put sugar in my coffee or tea for at least 40 years. Another effect of this diet is that the plaque on my teeth has completely gone. After about a week, I could feel it coming off, a very strange sensation. Additionally, I no longer have bleeding gums. I only take thyroxine for my underactive thyroid. I hope to get off of it over the next year on this diet. Update 17th August. Recently someone said they now had no ear wax!! I was sceptical but I can confirm this is another effect of a carnivore diet. Strange but true. Watch this kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYrCYpmfg5Jkias

Very happy to hear you are sticking to it. I never had transition problems from V to C. I started eating eggs for 6 months before I discovered the carnivore diet. Then it was a couple of weeks overlap before my veggie food was gone. My results started immediately. Tooth hot/cold sensitivity and bleeding gums gone sometime before 3 weeks. I discovered that while chewing ice. Something I couldn't do for years. Every day my energy got stronger. It's now 5 1/2 yrs later. 80% of health is in the mind. Make sure you pay attention to your self-thoughts, and any self-defeating beliefs, expectations, and attitudes. Many people say do not do this cold turkey. Good for you for doing this for your health. If I might suggest that as you add things to your diet only do one thing at a time and be aware of how it affects you. If you see any negative effects just eliminate it. I find that the closer I keep to strict carnivore the better I feel. She refuses to try a carnivore diet believing meat rots in the gut, causes inflammation and lacks essential fibre. She was a nurse in an ITU ward for close on 40 years. The "taste" for variety is hard to overcome. IMHO, it's due to our conditioning over the years where we focus on "what we want" eating for pleasure and entertainment. It raises it's head every week or two, where my creativity to rationalize falling off the wagon for a treat or splurge amazing me. I feel there's an element of the addiction process feeds that urge.
@angelacross2216 Жыл бұрын
Gosh you do have a lot on your plate and look how gracefully you are handling it all. Carnivore grew out of a traditional elimination diet so it’s normal to experiment with adding other foods in, but give yourself space between introductions so that you can isolate plants which do not agree with you. I’ve noticed in most of the interviews I’ve watched that men seem to thrive on strict carnivore and women tend to to reintroduce the occasional vegetable. Maybe it’s the influence of the split roles of hunters and gatherers in our history.
@itzakpoelzig330 Жыл бұрын
The paleoanthropologist Miki Ben-Dor, who has some great talks here on youtube, believes that women and men were both hunters, just like male and female wolves. Modern day hunter gatherers often have a gendered work division, but that's because they're not hunting megafauna, which requires all hands on deck. It's pretty much unheard of for the males and females of one species to evolve to have different diets, unless they live entirely separately from each other. When there ARE different dietary needs between males and females, it is always the females who need MORE animal foods than the males, to replace the energy-loss of pregnancy. For example, did you know that only female mosquitoes bite? The males are vegetarians. Of course, I can't tell people what to eat, but if I could, I would recommend that women be the most carnivorous of us all, particularly if they are still menstruating, and particularly particularly if they plan to have children in the future.
@angelacross2216 Жыл бұрын
@@itzakpoelzig330 , thank you that is a great insight. I wonder why I see this issue so often in the “carnivore community “. It’s almost 100% of the time I see videos by guys on carnivore who report that their female partners still eat salad with their meat. Maybe it’s not a physiological but rather a psychological phenomenon.

For "variation on the plate" I've added homemade sauerkraut. It's so incredibly easy to make, and it's way tastier than any store bought stuff. Mine is so sparkling and bright tasting that it really helps to break up a diet of fats and proteins. I think vegetables are "safe" to eat only if they've been fermented outside of our bodies, because we definitely don't want them fermenting in our bodies. That's where all the bloating comes in, plus it produces L-lactase which is linked with all kinds of health issues. Avocados are everybody's favorite low carb veggie, but they contain the toxin persin, so not everyone can thrive with them. Dr. Sarah Zaldivar has a video on the topic.

Hi Rebecca. I think adding other foods in is a very common experience. People have variable results so please keep us informed. I notice that I do better on close to zero carb with my weight and brain function (memory). I also need to take Mg but I use Mg Citrate powder dissolved in water which is cheap and kind of makes the water taste better. If I don't I get a few cramps but mostly heart arrhythmias. I also take boron after watching Dr Suresh Khirwadkar who had severe cramps and only alleviated them with boron, so you may wish to check him out. Well done on the logs!

Some people need a lot more salt than others, too. Like, up to two tablespoons a day, to feel their best. My dad also has MS and he's a "salt waster", or a person whose body eliminates salt too quickly. So I would try upping salt, before buying any supplements.

I follow carnivore some days, and other days I add in a few vegetables. I’ve been supplementing with magnesium citrate for years bc like most people, I’m deficient. I also use the large bags of powder. Don’t like the taste but it’s cheap. I tend towards constipation and it helps with that. For occasional leg cramps, I always have magnesium oil on hand. Rub a dollop of that in and the cramps are gone in minutes. Also, you can make your own electrolytes using good Himalayan sea salt, potassium (cream of tarter or a no salt substitute) and powdered magnesium. You definitely need to drink this if you live in a hot climate, or eat a carnivore diet. There are YT videos giving instructions. Also, lots of potassium in avocado

I just found your channel after searching for carnivore recovery stories. It's about 30 days for me. I relate to a lot of what you are saying and the struggles of daily life, even when we start to feel better and have more energy. I also have chickens and eat more eggs per day than they are currently producing, one of them keeps going broody and causing all kinds of problems, but I'm attached to her. Anyway, about the leg cramps, I used to get them sometimes, all through my life, but using iodized salt stopped them. Apparently, on carnivore, the minerals we need to be concerned about are sodium, magnesium and potassium. Not using enough salt in general can cause problems for some people. I'm still taking a multi-vitamin mineral supplement, but have cut down from daily to 3 times a week, no cramps or added pain for me, but I'm not strict carnivore (yet) still eating dairy, herbs and spices and the occasional low carb vegetable, and some blueberries once in a while.. I'm gonna check out the rest of your channel, have subscribed and thank you for documenting your journey, having support and validation is so important when we go against cultural norms.

Dietary fibre was the "solution" to a problem caused by modern/processed foods. It was made mainstream by a British physician (Denis Burkitt) in the 1960s. Before that, Kellogg (the cereal breakfast inventor) also peddled it to help with colitis and constipation. Your grandparents generation would never of heard of fibre (apart from eating bran to help with consitpation). And their grandparents generation it would have been very rare.

***Electrolyte DIY, in a glass jar fill 1/4 with pink Himalayan salts Or sea salts, top off with water and let dissolve overnight. If there are no salt crystals left add more salt and let sit to dissolve again until it is completely saturated and a few crystals remain. Then take 1teaspoon in a glass of water every morning. Much cheaper than buying supplements and you know what's going in it. The Boron is also a great, I'm personally glad for the reminder. Look into muscle testing( aka Applied Kinesiology) as learning to do this will give you a valuable tool to 'ask' your body if certain foods are okay for you. I love a lot of things, but I love myself more. 'Allow yourself' is treading on shaky ground. When you start justifying ??? Please think about what you are talking about. As time passes it seems it is easy to forget the health issues that have been sorted out by carnivory or some other lifestyle change. But at least I do remember the most significant improvements and hopefully that will stay with me and keep me from straying. I have done some tests with reintroducing various foods, but it seems that any vegetables or fruits cause problems to resurface. I feel great on just beef and eggs and I hope I won't become tired of eating nothing else. I also seem to have a very low tolerance for various preservatives that are often used in processed meat, so I avoid them as I can. I too have stuggled a bit with cramps, mainly in my legs. By taking magnesium it seems I can keep them at bay for the most part, but not entirely. I heard Dr. Chaffee say that it can also be due to dehydration but I am definitely not dehydrated. The cramps only occur while I am either laying flat or am sat in an awkward position. I've never had them while standing or walking. Usually just standing up stops them within a few seconds. Best of luck to you with your experiments (:

Almost 60 days in, yes tis a bit boring meal after meal. I know personally that I am under eating and my partner is not with me at all. So icecream, cookies, cake, vegetables, potatoes all fresh from this year's garden, all around, yes an avocado would be awesome. Somehow I have yet to do so. When I started I wanted to do the whole 90 day challenge, perhaps when that happens I might. Cramps crazy bad, so I drank water with salt several times a day, first week very thirsty could not quench my thirst not so bad now. My melatonin has 150mg of magnesium, from my research you don't need to supplement forever. I am considering Q10 it apparently helps with mitochondrial energy production. We make it ourselves and get it from the meat as it breaks down. I have some nerve damage to my feet and it is helpful in repair to the nerves. My blood work will be next month with my specialist. I am hoping for good results but am preparing for the negative. I hope loosing my fat will decrease the inflammation in my system and produce more T cells kill the lingering viruses. I am fighting an immune disorder so that does help with my motivation. There is a tree design with branches with all the chronic diseases in the branches in the root is insulin then insulin out of control, sugar and seed oils going up the trunk, on your search insulin resistance seems to be the route cause haha

Day 17...... I have PAD in my left leg and been on statins ( on and off ) for the past 4 yrs, I could walk briskly for about 3 blocks before I would start getting intense pain in my calf shooting down to the side of my foot ....it was about day 7 that I had realize that the pain in my leg was barely there after about 3 blocks , which would happen every now and then so I was hesitant to think it was getting better , so the next day same thing barely any pain and the following same , here we are day 17 and I can walk 10 blocks up and down hills with barely any pain , it has to be from carnivore because that's the only thing ive changed during this time . Also my Acid Refux is almost completely gone 1 pill in the last 17 days compared to taking a pill every other day .

I just posted a comment, but it didn't show up, sorry, don't know what happened, I didn't write anything bad. Probably got censored or something. Thanks for the video and for sharing your journey, I subscribed. I hope this comment sticks.

with your condition, I would def try the lion diet. I hear that you are eating a lot of chicken, try eating only ruminent animails and see if you feel better.
@sebastianw7348 Жыл бұрын
I agree, non lean beef would be better than chicken which is very lean and not so nutritional dense.

Agree.. need to eat fattier meats from ruminant animals. Makes a huge difference. If it’s ground meat, add grass fed tallow or butter. I’ve also been taking magnesium for years and finally found the one that works for me. Magnesium L-Threonate is the most bioavailable and is working great for me.

yes I agree, I do usually mostly eat beef 👍

When raising chickens and getting those wonderful eggs, at times we must cull some and not just roosters. For me chicken is a dessert food, or wintertime soup ingredient. Mostly I trade for other meats or give as a gift to others. Basically, beef rules! I am good with cheeses, butter, cream, and I do fine to season with homegrown garlic and onion. I love the hot peppers, too, from my garden and greenhouse, but I find I feel inflammation if I consume too much fresh tomato. My lovely tomato varieties are relished by the people not on carnivore and the chickens, though.

Great Video, love how the video not so clinical, you showed how life happens the phone and dogs!! I think if you are showing us products it would help if you put the product name and make down in the comment section! I am new to carnivore and live in Ireland and need to look into electrolytes so any brand that I could check out myself would be great!! Be well!! Great job on the firewood!!

When you present a product that works for you, like the electrolytes, can you provide a link for it? You have the business and the community by doing so. Thank you. I appreciate your content how this has positively affected you. I am happy you are feeling so much better and energetic.

I love listening to you. I have also decided to eat the fruit and veg I grow as I also love the process. Are you eating enough salt, eating more salt has stopped my leg cramps, which were also getting bad. I don’t eat a lot of supplements but vit D and Magnesium are two I do take (when I remember 😂) I am looking forward to your next video Good luck 😉

Need advice with carnivore, I am 51 years old, postmenopausal woman. Last year I was really into carnivore. Ended it for three months strict and got rid of all the inflammation in my body. I lost about 10 pounds. However, I had no energy, no matter how much fat and Electrolytes I added. I’m a physical therapist in a nursing home and every day. I would have to go out at lunch and lay down in my car because I was just exhausted. I couldn’t sleep well at night. Any advice so I can get back on carnivore to get rid of all this inflammation in my body and lose this excess 30 pounds? Thanks.

I’ve seen where adding more fat when plateauing is helpful. “5 minute body” on KZbin talks about this.

I have less strength, lower energy, more fatigue, worse insomnia, weight gain put on as increased subcutaneous fat after 90 days strict grassfed beef, lamb, bison, venison, beef fat trimmings, salt and water. I'm willing to press on in hopes of some improvements, but I am getting discouraged.

I did my own 2 year test on fiber. I got the daily recommended fiber intake( not easy). I was bulky, bloated, and sluggish. I've never been so normal since going Carnivore.

I think before you go carnivore make sure you are completely hydrated. You body uses lots of water to process meat. But dont drink any thing while eating so you wont dilute acid.

Looking much healthier! Be aware it's likely you may still have some underlying nutrient deficiencies. You may need to eat organ meats, particularly lamb or beef liver and heart for much higher nutrient density, which will help restore deficiency, they also tend to be cheaper, than muscle meat. Yes there are all the essential nutrients in meat and they are much more bioavailable, but some are not that high in meat, so they would be enough to maintain good health, but are too low to recover from deficiency. You may need to supplement for some time if not ongoing, with some nutrients like magnesium, copper and iodine. These would have come from our natural water supplies and chemicals used in modern water supplies will bind those nutrients. Iodine, magnesium, copper are very common deficiencies and its thought we are all sub optimal or deficient and these are not high in meat. I had deficiency in all 3, found by a functional nutritionist and I've been on high dose ever since and it has been the key to my recovery, where carnivore alone didn't quite get me there (im on 600mg magnesium, 1.5mg iodine, 6mg copper, split between 2 meals - yes thats milligrammes not mcg - the recommended daily allowances are set way too low for recovering from deficiency and too low even for optimal health. There shoukd be a good level of copper in ruminant liver, but it wasnt enough to overcome my deficiency. Also bear in mind you cannot diagnose deficiency from normal blood tests, my serum levels were all normal - the nutritionist organised red blood cell magnesium test, 24hr urine test for iodine and he diagnosed copper deficiency because I had 4 symptoms for copper deficiency, but you can run a ceruloplasmin test for copper. If i don't take 600mg of magnesium daily I get joint ache and leg cramps. I also salt my food well to prevent leg cramps. Look at these articles about the role of copper, magnesium and iodine for maintenance of myelin sheath: www.schoolscience.co.uk/site/scho/templates/resource.aspx?pageid=702#:~:text=Copper%20enables%20production%20and%20maintenance,in%20green%20in%20this%20picture. my.klarity.health/magnesium-for-nerve-pain/#:~:text=Magnesium%20also%20supports%20the%20cells,affected%20by%20long%2Dterm%20damage. inside.hochdorf.com/en/iodine-deficiency-a-serious-concern

You bring some good points and info. It is true that not all meats are equal, and therefore more nutrients are found in some meats and not so many in others. Fortunately I live where livestock are pretty much grass-raised and finished, and the cattle for sure are free choice supplemented better than the humans are! I raise my own food and trade with neighboring ranches for anything I lack, and local butcher shops abound, for which I am very grateful. Most people do not have that luxury, and therefore your suggestions have merit for them. Thanks!

Dont for get potassium… i make my own electrolyte drink. Was getting plenty of sodium but still was getting cramp in my feet. Added some citric acid into the drink like less than half a teaspoon, maybe a quater of a spoon or so and felt much better.

I feel free being on carnivore. I know I'm safe eating and I was not safe before! So, yes... I am liberated from food the way we do it today.... 2024. I can think about what is important not so much garbage to think about. I just feel sorry for everybody else who hasn't thought about it. LOLOL But, hey... it took me a long time and many failed diets so I do understand.

15 months carnivore for me = it's awesome = so many benefits = @ 1 pound of fatty ribeye or fatty ground beef a day + 1 pound of fatty pork per day + 6 extra large eggs per and pink salt + carbonated water = one meal a day in a 2 hour window = never gets boring !))

Your body will remind that you shouldn’t put certain foods in your mouth. It’s just a matter of time. Leg cramps. It’s not all about electrolytes. There has to be right concentration of salt and water in your body as water carries electrical signals. That water in our cells comes from fat and it is released during oxydation. Ironically you need more fat in your diet. Eat some chunks of unsalted butter. Other minerals like magnesium etc we can get from sardines. They are probably the best source of all essential minerals.

I'm so glad you are improving, I'm considering doing it myself. A keto plan would give you 20 carbs a day. I want to share a channel; LIVE DISEASE FREE, she works with some Drs and they have research that shows parasites are a common cause of MS and some other chronic illness'. They have a class and a program developed, also messages/reports from those who have done the program and recovered!

Eat Whole Food and if you feel good too, then it works for you. Go withbit. You're not wrong. You just need to listen to what your body wants. Just don't eat a tone. You can always reduce back to full Carnivore.

I know its been 7 months since you posted this video. So you may already have done your homework concerning cholesterol. But I recommend Dr. Eric Westman's channel. You'll find a boatload of information. Having been on Keto for several years, I found I was very dehydrated. At first I though it was electrolytes, too.
@arthurfonzarelli982810 ай бұрын
You don't have to keep taking electrolytes forever in fact You don't even need to take them. At first you dump a ton of carbohydrates which in turn dumps all your electrolytes. If you go down to zero carbohydrates then you're not dumping anymore

You seem so lovely and a bit stressed? I know that my autoimmune symptoms and neuroinflammation improved when I made sure to incorporate 80% of my calories from fat. For me mostly meat based fat as butter, sour cream, and heavy cream seem to affect me negatively in a very low-key sneaky kind of way
