We took a ride on Indonesia's most luxurious train! We got a $90 luxury train in Indonesia from Yogyakarta to Jakarta and it was incredible! Indonesia first class trains are on another level and we never been on anything like it! We had complete reclining seats, movies, games, and a free meal all while watching the beautiful java countryside fly by out the window!

That was not First Class of train but Luxury Class. There are 2 type, Luxury Class A and B, different in seat shape and material. The first class for regular train until now is called Suite Compartement Class on KAI Bima Train Services. For the bullet train/Whoosh HSR Jakarta-Bandung, there are actually First Class. In Indonesia there are many of variety classes on train especially in Java island such as economy, premium economy, business, executive, priority class especially KA wisata (cruise train), Panoramic, luxury, and the highest one is suites class compartment. In Sumatera island the highest class is executive for certain routes, because railways on this island are still separated in 5 provinces and freight train is highly prioritized by government

You can try a more luxurious train than that in Indonesia, the name is the compartment suits class which is on the Bima train and the Argo Semeru train and there is another more expensive one called the Kawis Nusantara train which is usually used by certain people such as the president

What you must visit if you are in Indonesia is the city of Cirebon, especially East Cirebon. You can visit Alun Alun Ciledug which has lots of games and food. Swipe you can visit AJIMUT Hill in Waled Bukit District which is very beautiful. Swipe again and you can go to Baro Beach, Gebang District. There is a very beautiful beach, East Cirebon 250 KM from Jakarta. You can take the train from Senen Station and immediately get off at Ciledug Cirebon Station. Train to Jogyakarta...! There are many hotels and accommodation available in Ciledug, Cirebon...!

If I recall correctly (haven't ate Hokben in months) when you buy meals in Hokben you're supposed to take the straw yourself, there's usually a tub full of them near the cashier. It's definitely unorthodox so I understand why you'd miss it; kind of a weird design choice to be honest, but hey, Hokben is an Indonesian chain so they might know more on how Indonesians operate.

Guys, while you are in Jakarta, and gunning for fast food joints. American fast food vibes differently in Indonesia, or Asia in general. Guess you already figure it out. There's a fancy KFC restaurant in the city, then there is also a classy KFC branch in the city. The classy KFC simply because it sit in a heritage house, yet also providing a classic KFC menu. While the fancy KFC is about the upscaled menu and modern urban casual style restaurant setting. KFC in the country said to be better than in the US.

Trains are generally nice and all world class. The only thing is the average Indonesia height is 5 ft 3. Doors and cabin heights are generally lower. Seats are cramped. I hope they will use the international measurement standard in the future.
