Hi Jeanne. Well, no not at the moment but I intend to put together some sort of on-line sew-along, along with patterns, etc. If I ever do put something together - online or in-person (which would be really fun so I'd also love to do it), I'll mention it here on my channel, so you'll hear as long as you're subscribed. Thanks for asking though - because it lets me know if I'm on the right track or I'm just barking mad! Pentewan is lovely, isn't it? If you've visited before then you'll know what's on offer, and if you're also into gardens and beautiful spots you have Heligan, Eden, Charlestown, etc. Have a great time. Dawn x

Buttons are "sweeties for grown ups". I love that thought 😊 Those glass buttons look truly delicious! And the mirror-backed buttons are beautiful 😍

Well, I'm not saying buttons are an obsession to many of us but, well, if I ever move house I'm pretty sure the next people will be finding buttons in all kinds of nooks and crannies for years to come. I just hope they will love them as much as I do... Dawn x

I'm sure you're not a slow stitch failure! I hear lots of people saying they don't know what to 'do' with their slow stitching when it's a piece on it's own, and it helps me to know where I'm headed. Go for it! Dawn x

Thank you so much your advice. We are leaving for London at the end of June for a few days, Edinburgh for about eight days then Dublin for another week and back to London. Hopefully we will have a bit of time to explore the outskirts of the city. I would have loved to see the English countryside but that will have to be for another trip. If you have any suggestions or tips for shopping vintage/antique linens, laces and buttons please let me know. It would be much appreciated 😊

You'll be about as far away from me, in Cornwall, as you can get I'm afraid, so I really don't know those areas at all - maybe I'll go too, sometime! I'd probably try to find some independent art or fabric shops or something, and ask them specifically about anything that's going on including any markets. Ask everyone you see about markets, actually, including staff in the places you are staying...! D x

Oh such beautiful books. You are my kindred spirit! I love seeing your videos because I see so many things just like I've made and just how I store them. Old cases are one of my favourite, I've different sizes piled up with laces and materials. Jars of different coloured buttons. I have a cloth book from old doilies, very much like yours. I don't do KZbin but so glad that you do showing off all your wonderful items and methods. Such a great treat to watch. Thank you.

Oh, you're so kind to me! Honestly, lots of people seem to get stuck or put off when the general advice is more like "don't make plans and go with the flow". And that's such a shame. I honestly find it much easier to plan the actual item, THEN let the stitching flow. Take care, Dawn x

Hi Nancy. Absolutely - it IS do-able, because if I can do it, anyone can! Please do give it a go. My pincushion - I half made a pattern for it ages ago - I was going to pop it up onto Etsy but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll dig it out and see how far it got...! Have a great evening Nancy. Dawn x

Nancy - I have been on Etsy and found that I have sold at least one copy of the pdf instructions a while ago! Copy and paste the link (below) into your search bar or copy and paste the link into the ETSY search bar - it should bring it up near the top (fourth image on my screen). Obviously, because someone has already bought it in the past (£6), it wouldn't be fair of me to put a tutorial on KZbin for the same thing. I'm sure you'll understand where I'm coming from. I am planning on putting a few digital patterns on my website, when it has a re-vamp at some point. They will all be pdfs for customers to print out at home, so that they are pretty affordable to most people hopefully. I thought this would be a good way to cover website costs, then I could possibly show any helpful/tricky bits of the patterns on KZbin if necessary, so you are getting "more than just a pdf". Let's just say, it's on the "to do" list! If you are interested, here is the link below. Take care, Dawn x www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1523963894/pdf-file-botanical-pincushion

Love the idea of slow stitching But frayed edges would drive me potty. I might bite the bullet and decorate a plain calico pouch from Hobbycraft as I have collected many piece of lace and fabric pieces over the years.
@AtHomeInCornwall
@AtHomeInCornwall 18 сағат бұрын
Lynette, if you're not a frayed-edge person, there are still plenty of sewing projects that I would consider to be slow stitching. And yes - lace is perfect because you only need to tuck the ends under! I have made lots of things that have neat - rather than frayed - edges in the past. One was a book that I covered in rows of lace, for my Mum-in-law, who prefers neat edges like you. As time goes on, I'm sure I'll try to share some things like that, too. Happy stitching - your pouch idea sounds lovely. Dawn
