I used to skate in the 90s in my teens. I didn't since I was 21 and in a coma for 2 weeks and had a stroke. My legs are weak and I'm now 39. I try to get up on my old Roces Royales but it's like Bambi on ice. Lol I have no control and take them off almost immediately.

Thanks for the vid, I just ordered my 1st pair of M12s yesterday, I've had Rollerblade since the late 90s can't wait to try them out. I can see the M12s lock on way better for topside than the old Impalas, which were actually my last pair of Roces in 96 97.

First I saw the blue plate of the Impala 1994-95 I was stoked. The guys who skated with them were the holy grail. 1996 I switched from K2 Black Magic to M12❤❤❤

Absolutely know what you mean about being able to feel the rail through the boot on royales. I loved that feeling and was genuinely upset for a while when I realised it was never coming back. The trade-off was worth it overall for the improved design but I still miss that aspect of early skates.

It is insane to note how the Roces Impala and the RBs Tarmac/Chocolate/Trooper looked similar back then, it was a mistake-proof formula back then, I guess.

That Impala looks a lot like my old Roces Lowriders. Remember paying more than 600 Deutsch Mark. Was broke the whole year… but yes… still outside, still happy… 🆙 Roces Majestic 12 used to be the most popular shoes amongst my peers.

Was my first skate, too. Still got them. Shredding this antirockered is a blast. You can take this little pice of aluminium on the heel off the frame and use it with ufs.

To be fair the Impalas were built as Vert skates. The Roces Majestics were aimed at street although the only real difference was the chassis being plastic rather than Ali and a slightly stiffer collar I think. Still classic and quality skate no matter what 😊✌

In that era I started street/aggressive skating. It was a hard choice back then. Wanted the Impala's back then but they where sold out everywhere. I bought the similar Roces Lowrider. 2 month later the first gen. m12 hitted the german market. What I did to got a more stable soul, you remember those L plastic pieces you could attach to the boot?! I did that and it was so much difference. 2 Years later I bought the K2 King55's. Still have them and love them to death

I begged for the 62's for my 15th birthday (1996) but none in stock at the time in the UK. I got the charcoal M12 twelve, with senate lowrider wheels. I still have the skates to this day. They feel totaly different to the latest M12's.

I love my original Impalas from 1996 (all black), and I just start with aggressive skating again after over 20 years of barely skating at all. Sadly my liners died now- Roces actually warned me to use them still, because of the old plastic. I will still tryy to get new liners for them. Btw, yes, the original wheels were Senate full-core. I bought USD last year, but they just feel different and bulky. About to buy some M12 Anniversary from last year (found new and cheap ones in my size), although I'd like high-cut again... Great video, have to watch more of you.

I Had the Impalas first edition in the 90's. I used to skate in the street a lot, jumping stairs, doing grinds in curbs and flat bars, After 2 or 3 hours of skating my feet were in so much pain. Right Now I skate with aeons 60 in the park or The New Next 80 in the streets they are so comfortable, I know I can't compare them, different times, different technologies... But my feet are having some fun now... I don't know what I want to say here, maybe besides the pain I wish I have my Impalas now...

Holà! I am a beginner in roller skate ( quad) and I have a problem with my skate. I change my wheels from 57mm to 62mm and also softer as I am doing long street ballad and since then my wheel are literally carving into my plate and the sole of my boots. I even sometimes trip because the wheel is stop ( it is more often on the back inner edge on both feet)> Can you help me found what is the problem please? I don't have any skate shop so I bought it on amazon (big mistake). Also, I prefer my truck on the loose side and it seems ( I am not sure) that my bushing are hard. Anyways, thanks for your content it really help in my skate progression, and due to you I am also considering park skating ( when I will be more confident backward and how to stop properly)

They are actually both 90's skates, both came out in the 90's, one where vertical ramp skates-first or second model with low riders n verts M12's came out mid 90s
