Hi Whoopi. I watched this show when it was on originally and loved it. What I remember about this interview was that it started with Latifah singing. I had no idea that she had such a beautiful voice at the time. Now, of course, the world knows. Thank you for posting these clips. Big fan.

This was a great show. Whoopi sat down with such a variety of people: G. Gordon Liddy, Lily Thomlin and Queen Latifah. I loved this show when it was on late. No hype or band just conversation.

Oh man, I have never been a fan of rap - something about the beat makes me angry and the language is appalling. But I love QL and it was a joy to see her as such a youngster but already so well spoken and self aware. No wonder so many love her! Thanks Whoopi for showing me another side of her.

I am someone who *hates* rap "music," for the words so often used, but mostly because it's just plain obnoxious. ;Now, having delivered that grand statement I want to say I have loved Ms. Latifah from the first time I saw her interviewed. ;She has always had a wonderful sense of who she is. She is one of the few truly authentic people I've ever seen-- something I've always wanted, but have never achieved. And who knew the kid could actually sing? Long live The Queen.... and I look forward to many more years of watching her work. Thanks for this, Whoopi.

Queen Latifah !!! ;-) is awesome and lovely amazing queen I've met her at William Paterson University where I am still employed there.. in the year of 2000 she came along with her mother visitand support her family that was graduating at that time..and I was the driver, she & her mom, was on my campus bus I drove them down to lot#7 where graduation ceremony taken place during that time it was packed almost like gridlock there in hot humid sun in month of June they gotten off along with everybody else and I said have good day.. The "queen" will never remember me :-) but, I've taken good care of them both driving to their destination, Queen Latifah and her mother

Whoopi there's alot of changes happening at the view. If you need to call new co host out there name then go right a head and do so. I have a feeling the producers are looking for controversy and let me tell you there is gonna be a lot of negative conflict on the show. I hope there's not going to be a dude on the show. That's not being a head of the curve. That is trying to compete with other shows that want to be the view. The view needs to be the view and I hope that you do stick around. I wish you had another sister with you on the show and nope I don't mean a conservative blk women. The only reason I watch is to see and hear you Whoopi. If you ever leave the view that will be the day I'm done with the view.
