Any hunt in which you can obtain silver is a great one! I wonder if the we're getting some of the same coins from whomever is marking them on the edge because I've seen quite a few like that here in central Virginia! Usually you get the marked coins on either side & not the edges. I like taking acetone or goof off & wiping the marks off! If I have to search through possible repeats, so do you! LoL! Back in the Spring I found a 1972-P DDO, FS-101! I sent it off to ANACS for grading during the Richmond Coin Show Mother's Day weekend. Got an email Thursday & it graded at AU 55 & should be back in hand Monday. Was pleased with the grade & PCGS has that listed as being $75. Probably won't get that for it but can't turn ones nose up to a nice profit like that when you pulled it out of circulation at face value! Good luck in the next hunt! Stay safe!

Very nice. Finding silver here lately has been tough. All the boxes have been new.

A lot of the coins in these 2 boxes were 2023 P and D. So far I have avoided full uncirculated boxes... knock on wood!

3rd is great on the national stage. We'll take that all day. Getting first AAU NAtionals helped take a little of the sting out of getting 3rd instead of 2nd or 1st though. Good luck on your next hunt!

I haven't found any 90% halves yet myself, need to get more boxes... but it's hard to step away from nickels with how crazy my luck has been the last few weeks haha. Nickels are a ton of fun when you are finding cool older coins... especially the buffalos and the V nickels. When you it takes you 5 boxes to find a circulated box they get kind of tiresome. Love hunting nickels though. Tried to pick up a box today and they didn't have any.

@@GASilverHunter I haven't gotten any uncirculated boxes of any denomination yet. Been hunting for a year. Worst box was a half dollar box that was 1/3 unc. I'm dreading the day it finally happens haha. My credit union today ONLY had nickels and dimes. Went for 2 boxes of nickels and one dime box. Dimes had nothing but my first 2024. Nickels were really good again. Two decent looking 1936 buffalos, a proof, a prooflike 2009 Swiss 20 rappen, and one silver. Oh and two semi-key dates, one with some luster, and a 1940-D that almost has full steps. This one branch always seems to have good nickel boxes. Come to NY sometime and I'll hook you up haha.

I was in New York City earlier this year and tried to stop by a few banks but none had halves and I didn't have time to dig into smaller denominations.

I have a lot of silver I have purchased if you are talking just silver in general. 98+% of the silver half dollars I own have come from bank box orders. I do get the occasional finds from customer rolls dropped at the bank or the random silver in a teller tray. Again we are talking 20-50 coins in that scenario vs the rolls and rolls and rolls I have found in bank boxes. I only buy junk silver halves when its under spot (which hasn't happened in a long time). I did buy a couple of benj's and a couple of walkers for my albums because they are just super low mintage and I will likely never find them in a box.

Well... the reality is the skunk boxes are real. I have been 28 boxes without silver before so don't be surprised if it takes some time to find some silver.
