The Malachowski-class feels like Disco adaptation of the the old FASA RPG Anton Class which would be later refit into the Reliant/Miranda class. In fact the Anton now looks like a decent missing link between the Malachowski and Miranda.

The NX inspired saucer/nacelle format seems to be the perfect test platform when transitioning to a new era of design and technology standards. Simple, cost effective and quick to produce. From there Starfleet can easily edit the design with things like a secondary hull to fill different mission roles.

It would be very interesting to see this ship with a secondary hull. Although I love it as is, especially the deflector array's design and location, the addition of a secondary hull (with a possible upgraded warp core/enginnering section) would look right at home. As well as complete the "missing link" in the design chain from the NX to the Constitution.

The Malachowski class is a lovable little ship from the Discovery era, one of which I like, and in STO a great ship to kit bash with the Miranda variants - probably the widesnt selection of any ship to mix and match in that particular game, as long as you have the ships of course to mix and match with. I like to have the tier 1 and tier 6 versions, the tier 6 always the kit bashed one as I am not keen on some of the things on the t6 version, especially the nacelles with those awful bussard collectors. Nevertheless, its a fun little ship, small, well armed a small powerhouse for its era. I would like to think that although the drain on ships systems with the shuttlebay forcecield, when shuttles return as well the forcefield would also probably act as a scrubber as well, to remove any external things that ay have got on to the hull of the shuttle and survived space flight to the ship, the forcefield removes any external threats tht may be on th ehull, if it is within its parameters of course - thats just my guess, or simply as you say, to keep the atmosphere in. It was really nice as well to hear a it of backstory to the Malachowski's shakedown/first assignment on scanning that region of space that had been unscanned for 30 years, that was also a nice twist and not everything is bubbly happiness and triumph at the last secind, was really fune nonetheless to hear. This is why your videos with beta canon are awesome, you add that sprinkle of space dust and create it your own and it works mighty fine. Proud of you, keep up the fantastic work you do. Peace and long life.

Thank you Kaiden :) And yes, sometimes I pull myself back from having darker twists, as fandom can get nitpicky about the non bubbly future type Trek stories... This being my first ship in the first star trek game I've ever taken the helm of, I'm extremely in love with this ship and have a heavy bias towards the class. I used the ship well past the recommended use and with lots of luck, increasingly sweaty play style and lots of sinking managed to use it all the way up to the dyson sphere battles. Great video as always. At the beginning you talk about how the early Starfleet had to rely on older designs like the NX class. It seems all of the Earth Starfleet was integrated into the Federation Starfleet. I wonder how much of the member worlds' fleets were directly integrated into Starfleet? Where there Vulcan or Andorran ships serving in Starfleet? Did they have an NCC designation? Would that account for the Malachowski's high NCC number?
@TriAngulumAudioStudios3 жыл бұрын
Well Registry Numbers can never be used to determine a starships age... They actually seem to be relatively arbitrary in reality as Trek has shown us... IE the Constellation from TOS being 1017 even though the Enterprise that came before her is 1701, or the Grissom from ST3 with a Reg of 638, when she CLEARLY came after the Constitution, Crossfield Class etc.... As to whether there were other Member World starships in Starfleet? I'd like to think their were at first, as that makes sense... BUT unfortunately, we dont really have an answer that... At least not yet...

So let me get the I straight. We go from smooth hulled designs to stuff like the franklin,enterprise and then the stuff from early discovery then back to smooth hulled designs. Then into the late tnt era designs start to look more like military ships again instead of smooth hulled explorers.Yes I do,like some of the ships from discovery. But they look more futuristic for their timelines.their styles could fit in with more modern star trek ships if they had new refits. Imagine a walako2ski with modern phaser strips and 2 fore 1 aft torpedo launchers. Reminds me of a Miranda without the rollbar.
@TriAngulumAudioStudios Жыл бұрын
No they dont, and they really follow the historical patterns of designs, with history repeating itself, and technological development changing an overall design! IE, Nacelles, NX Era- Cylinder, DSC Era- Box, TOS Era, Cylinder Again, TMP Era Box again, TNG Era Cylinder, PIC Era Box... and so on, so forth! Having been making these videos for a long time now, I 100%, with everything I am say, you're incorrect with this personal opinion of yours. DSC Era Starships are clearly older, yet more advanced then the NX Era starship design...

In my opinion all of DISCO is no prime time Line. It's a seperate alternative timline. This have his start out of the temporal could war. Because there were a lot of technical break outs because it is all to modern for the pre TOS time.
@TriAngulumAudioStudios3 жыл бұрын
The Star Trek Timeline isnt a matter of opinion though, it's a matter of fact... The owners of Trek say it's the Prime Timeline, then it IS the Prime Timeline the end! Your comment would be like saying, "In my opinion, water isn't wet." Well you can say that all you want but the truth that water is in fact wet doesnt change and it just means you're wrong!
@trekicb3 жыл бұрын
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Yes, but this does not clear wy all is so in consistent and me says it the producers don't understand ST. And the real canon is not from interesst for them. "NEW-TREK" is a hide reeboot wich is not named do. It is a real kick to all fans who look for consistenze in all.
@TriAngulumAudioStudios3 жыл бұрын
Star Trek has always been inconsistent to be honest... And I think a visual update was most definitely needed in order to keep Trek current... They've done it with EVERY series, so to go and cry about it is kind of silly... Canon is more about events rather then the physical looks of something... IE, we get the word canon from the Bible, and you dont see in the various illustrated versions Christians complaining that thats not what the angels looked like in the last older version of the Bible! This channel, IS dedicated to Canon, but has no problem accepting that the owners of Trek have declared that New Trek is the Prime Timeline and that as a result of Trek being made now a days, has an updated look. Claims of "not real canon, or real Star Trek" have NO place here, as you're just wrong about that.. Please refer to the Channel Rules in the Channel Intro video at time code 1:03 kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGesfJx4dtmSmKc to ensure you dont go over the line and end up banned... Other then a new visual style, New Trek does NOT break canon any more then old Trek does... Ive done many videos on this channel which already prove that, so you really dont have a leg to stand on there either. Point is, It IS Prime and whether you like it or not, that's not going to change, so you need to learn to live with it... Just like Water is wet, and the Earth is not flat... The way I view the episodes to not make me go insane picking apart every thing that looks different from series to series, is to view them as a re-enactment, rather then actual footage of actual events. In fact this way, certain things make even more sense... Like how Kirk can make a log entry in the middle of a battle while his lips are not moving... And then visual changes are meaningless! Like Gene Roddenberry said when asked at a convention shortly after the release of TMP about why the Klingons looked so different, "Changes? What do mean Changes? There's no changes, that was simply how they always looked, just you couldnt see it before!" And if that explanation is good enough for Gene, it's good enough for you :)
