This was one of my favorite show. I had just graduated from High school, and I stayed with some people who lived near Melrose. Then I moved to an apartment building, that when people would come over, they would immediately say, this is the Melrose place building without a pool.

They should also bring back Kimberly from the dead - for a 3rd time. Nobody survived death more gracefully. I believe Sydney would also resurrect for a 3rd time. MP is just iconic in killing people and then make a u-turn and say: XY faked it, now she's back, deal with it!"

Honestly, I lived for the show. MP is my alltime #1 TV show. I cannot express how much I've cried and stood in front of my TV in utter disbelief of what I've just witnessed unfold. It all went so nutty in the middle of season 2 and peaked at craycray in season 5. Season 6 was still fantastic, but season 7 felt like a mild decrease - it was still awesome tho. The way Marcia Cross at one point stole the entire show in seasons 3 - 5 was so incredible. Kimberly Shaw must be one of the most iconic TV characters of all times. Marc Cherrie kinda ripped off MP on Desperate Housewives. I believe that MP was the blueprint for that show. MP season 7 was basically a pre-lude to Desperate Housewises. Whatever they have in stores for us, I'm buying! Sydney and Amanda (obvi also Alison and Jo were also my faves). I loved how Josie Bissett returned in season 6/7. And nobody can forget Michael. My lord. Michael (Thomas Calabro was married to like every single female on the show at one point - or had an affair with them... HILARIOUS). Jamie Luner (Lexi) was also iconic.

Netflix should give Tori Spelling a deal to use her name and then produce a reboot of the Aaron Spelling universe on Netflix where one show is high school, one is 20-somethings in an apartment complex, one is a modeling group, etc. and they all overlap. Soap operas are so inexpensive to make and all you need are these crazy storylines and rotating casts.....it's crazy to me they haven't at least tried to recreate what these shows did in the 90s.

My pitch for a new Melrose reboot series: 1. CW’s revival is not canon anymore 2. It’s about the kids from the original characters, specially Jake’s son, Austin the son of Jo and Reeve who was gave up to adoption, Michael and Jane’s child (from season 7) 3. Adult content, nudity and strong language is allowed in this new incarnation of the series 4. Sidney is alive and also Kimberly..the one who dies in the show was her twin lost sister who took her place after the car accident in season 2 😂😂😂😂 5. Amanda buys again the building from Lexie, demolish the old building and create a new brand of hotels with the name of Melrose Place 6. Kyle and Peter dies in a car accident 😂😂😂😂 7. Jo and Jake are married, Billy is a widower, Alison is gay and her partner is Samantha 😂😂😂

An Idea for the new show with storylines etc Amanda is still running the apt block but has fallen on financial hard times,they may wish to include a stint in Jail if they want some continuation from the 2009 reboot,most of the characters from that have simply now moved on. She asks for help from Jake who is now doing quite well for himself opearting a real estate company in the LA area,he buys a partnership in the building. Thats two original characters now connected to the Building. Furthermore he has been having an off romance with old flame Jo in the last year,she wants to be involved to obviously keep an eye on Jake,given Amandas history. Who doesnt love a love triangle Thats 3 characters now connected to the building and two had Children as in Jake and Jo who could now return as adults to stir things up as well. With a bit of imagination and present the possibilitys are endless for them all to meet up including Sydney and Jane etc,but they need to have credible new characters and a beleiveable connection to the Building for the Original cast

I think you're right. The primetime soap genre as it existed in the 90's is dead now, so they would really have to take a different approach. What would the premise be? Are people who didn't watch the original going to want to watch a reboot? Probably not, but I don't know if that's necessary. The show was a cultural phenomenon for a time in the 90's. A reboot would probably be a letdown. Sorry to be a party pooper! 😁
