over the years I've spent a lot of my free time looking through antique stores/estate sales and places like that its always felt very calming & fun to look through stuff from the past so thats where I've collected a lot of these from ^^ ❤

I didn’t realize Vogue has been running so long. Very interesting and relaxing :)

+Shelly May - Cut & Paste Memories _Vogue_ has been running for more than a century. It began in 1892 as a weekly newspaper before becoming a monthly magazine in 1973.

As a matter of interest to your viewers - the "Great Depression" era pricing mentioned for some of the apparel shown is not cheap in 1932 dollars. For example, one of the frocks had a pricing of $55.00 - this would be the cost equivalent of over $1200.00 today. Also consider that if pricing is not mentioned, then the style is probably from an established "couture house" and is made to order with more stratospheric costing only affordable to the very rich.

Us looking back at 1932 is kind of like people in that year looking back to 1841. Hard to imagine.

Beautifu video, always relaxing. I tend to prefer soft spoken, I am one of the few. But there is something about this channel , her whispering is truly special and relaxing. Thank you. Vogue magazine was more almost more like a book back then....beautiful art and without the high tech...kudos to them

wait, how is it from 1932 if color printing only became a thing in 1976 ? sorry if i sound stupid, i'm just genuienly asking
@rebeccabrighton7769 Жыл бұрын
Not stupid at all! Lithograph printing and 3-color printing were pretty standard at that time. The 1976 advancement brought in the 4-color technology we have to today and commercial printing more widely available. That’s my little knowledge anyways- maybe someone else knows more history and can share :)
