90th Birthday Celebration of Cardinal Francis Arinze

Just sitting here in Pensacola, Florida belatedly enjoying this 90th Birthday Celebration of Cardinal Arinze, and thanking God for his inspiration on my life. In 1998, I served on a committee with him at Thanksgiving Square ( Dallas, Texas), in preparation for year 2000. Over the years, I have sought his writings and speeches for clarification in controversial matters. Although I am not Catholic, Cardinal Arinze has been my role model for speaking precise and Bible-based truth in all matters. What a holy man with delightful interpersonal skills. When I nervously welcomed him to Texas, he immediately set me at ease when he leaned back, looked at my red jacket, smiled, and said, "Ah! you didn't have to do that." We both laughed. I have waited far too long to send him my personal thanks, but I will get that done now. Carol Surles

He's a great man. A pioneer and an inspiration to every bishop and priest from Onitsha Archdiocese. He was trained in my village parish by the now Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi.

Both of these men remind me of holy angels, and give us earthly inspiration to rise above ourselves spiritually. Thanks for giving me a worthy homework assignment.
