This would be one of the last times that Jimmy Carson would wear #10 for the Wings. The next time the team would play at the Joe (ironically enough, against the Blues), he would switch to #12 (eventually retired for Sid Abel) due to the double-retirement of Ted Lindsay and Alex Delvecchio.

The Blues roster at this time included 3 former Wings (Oates, Zombo, & Norwood) and 4 future Wings (Shanahan, Hull, Riendeau, & Joseph). The Wings roster included no former Blues and only one future Blue (Kevin Miller).
