tbh this is like a beautiful show. like everything was beautiful, the characters, the story writing, the soundtrack, the animation, the pyschology, and the depths of the characters. honestly i havent cried so hard over an anime since the ending of code geass, but it tops it by a landslide. anyway, it was such a diamond in the rough for that year.

I recommend: (if you haven't seen already ) fullmetal alchemist - awesome story about alchemists and their journey to get back what they have lost kokoro connect - a group of friends get anohana - story about people trying to move on after their loss of a childhood friend. I cried my eyes out for days after watching this and I was 16 at the time and every now and then I watch it and I still cry even though I'm 21 T-T psycho pass - in the future people are scanned to see if they are to become criminals by a new system and the police stop them before they do Nana - a rock band anime where two girls called Nana meet and this shows their lives as throughout different times in their lives awesome story Monster (2005 anime about a doctor who saves a patient and then his life turns upside down) death parade Nagi no Asukara - ReLife - a guy gets a second chance at reliving his teen years Hanasaku Iroha - awesome story of a city girl moving in with her grandmother in the countryside who runs an inn Shinsekai Yori - JUST WATCH IT if you like plot twists, mysteries, psychological stuff just do it Barakamon - if you want something to make you feel good watch this its possibly my favorite slice of life anime out there Usagi Drop - a man adopts a girl after his father passes away (the girl is the fathers daughter that he had with a younger female) really great story just avoid the manga Welcome to the NHK - a guy has become a shut in (someone who doesn't leave home for anything) and a girl tries to bring back so he can be a functioning member of society Steins;Gate - THE BEST TIME TRAVEL ANIME hands down also getting season 2 this season of anime Fate/Zero - batlle royal between 7 mages who have a servant that is a hero from the past, present, or future Tamako Market - good romance anime watch the movie Tamako Love Story for debateably one of the best endings Itazura na Kiss - possibly the best romance anime Beck - really good anime about a boy joining a band and learning to play guitar Gosick - loli female sherlock holmes during victiorian era. really good romance story and mysteries

This show was a masterpiece and deserves more credit then it has. Angelo was a beautiful protagonist. Spoiler: I am conflicted whether Angelo died, but whatever happened to him, I hope he stays safe.

I believe he's still alive. When at the very end you look at the traces on the sand there's no blood or something. And also I think Nero at the end smiled because he knew that, like Angelo, he ultimately found out that revenge is a fire which devours everything - including you. Perhaps he let him go like he did when Angelo was a child (having the gun on him but shooting elsewhere - a symbol of the revenge story of Angelo, who initially targeted few men, but not only did not kill all of them or by himself, but in the process, killed a lot of peoples having nothing to do with it, including his "brother" Corteo).

Angelo stays alive in the end. Before they show Nero shooting Angelo, they show that Angelo is with Don Galassia's men and has been treated to.. THAT part is actually what happens AFTER Nero shoots Angelo, Don Galassia's men were already following Nero and Angelo in their car, and when Nero shot Angelo (which he actually did), the men took Angelo to their safehouse and treated to him, that's also when Angelo is given a task to kill another person by the future Don to be of the Galassia family. Sorry for the long reply, but had to clear the confusion.

This show is so incredibly good. The characters are so well written. Like real persons. And the plot always surprised you. Sometimes you hate the characters sometimes you love them. The relationship between Angelo and Nero is so interesting and deep. You can understand both sides. There is a special bond between they can understand each other. Because of that the one scene in the last episode was so incredible. Nero is broken. He asks Angelo why he betrayed him. He has trusted him so much. And because of him the vanetti family died. And Angelo cried. He just cried and aks Nero why he just didn't killed that boy he was seven years ago. I got goosebumbs at that moment. Because I suddenly understand. All the incredible pain Angelo went trough. That this boy is indeed just a empty shell. The relationship between Angelo and Nero is full of incredibly pain and despair. But that's because they understand each other so well. That's why Nero is so broken that Avillio betrayed him. And it's the reason why Angelo didn't want to kill nero. As he said: he just didn't want too. The last episode is just incredible.

@@solmyi763 lolik im 2 years late but i finished it recently and mwah-perfection. i personally think nero finally tied up his loose ends from 7 years ago and finally killed angelo. he brought him to the beach sort of a last request and then shot him with a stern look in his eyes (indicating his decision). but im not sure what the scene was when he was offered sympathy as he was watching the chaos.

i didn't cry much when finishing this anime but i felt so empty,angelo's story,nero's reaction to everything,every single character was so well written and thought out. the impact that this anime had on me was too great and there can't be nothing like it spoiler i personally wish angelo is dead. he wanted his misery to end,but there are many points that contradict he's dead. and many others that don't,god i'll miss this anime

I wanted to know how it ended in the ova but I realized that Nero probably killed him... Since Angelo lost everything. He lost the will to live happily because his family was murdered by the Vanettis(Nero included), he had to kill his best friend Corteo to free him from this fucked up shit, he had to go and infiltrate the Vanettis only to find himself becoming closer and closer to Nero as if he had a brother and that made his feelings confused as to what he should do. Weather to seek vengeance or let go of it all. In the end I'd probably tell Nero to kill me if it cones to that point already since I don't know what I'll do anymore. I'm starting to see mu enemy as a brother and that's not good, I had to kill my closest friend to set him free from this painful reality, I witnessed my family getting murdered in front of my eyes while I hide in the cabinet... I'd rather die than live after all of that...

The songs are awesome. I just finished watching 91 Days and I'm already wanting to watch it again ヾ(:3ヾ∠)_ I won't ever forget about this anime. It was too good. The story is awesome, if you can pull a lesson from the story is that revenge will only result in another revenge, and there will be no end of it. At first you think the revenge will satisfy your rage but in the end after everything is done you'll realize it wont. And I believe Avilio is still alive, seeing that there's no blood on the sand, and the traces of a pair of feet are seen, still going forward. I'm more concerned about Nero tho, depends on where he goes to, he'll be safe...I just hope he doesn't go back to Lawless... The scene where Nero and Avilio shouting at each other is imprinted in my mind haha (along with Avilio's family murder, Vanetti Family's massacre, and Corteo's....)

A year late but I have to disagree, The ocean was shown to be washing away the foot steps just like how it already has washed away the blood. Avilio surviving makes the story pointless, his search for revenge and death, everything he went through all led up to the moment where once again Nero is faced with the task of shooting a boy with nothing left in his life. And this time he will fulfill that boys wish and let him die, ending his suffering.
