Brilliant video Peter. For all those out there that take their Porsche to a Porsche specialist and pay Porsche tax when there really is no need 👍 looking forward to more great videos 🙏

Great video. Thanks for sharing What adjustment needs to be made to the caliper bracket so the caliper can sit that much further out to accommodate the larger diameter rotor?
@TheAutomotiveFanaticАй бұрын
Thanks for watching...in order to move the caliper out further, you need custom bracket adapters. On Rennlist, there is a member named FLewis763 who offered these up for sale. You can reach out to him as he might still make and sell this adapters.

Great video on this upgrade. I just changed my rotors to 350mm on my 997.2. I noticed that the front pads don’t cover the whole rotor surface and leave about 5mm untouched on the inner portion. Did you notice that on your 350mm rotors? The rears seem to have most too the rotor surface covered by the pads. Thanks
@TheAutomotiveFanatic Жыл бұрын
Yes Michael, the pads will fall short. The 350mm rotor really needs to be paired with the Turbo's 6-piston caliper, thus having a properly sized pad. However, I still believe this upgrade is worthy even with the 4-piston caliper pads.

@@TheAutomotiveFanatic I just started the bedding process on them and have not had a chance to test them extensively yet. It’s good to hear that the stock calipers are still worthy with this upgrade. Have you used your brakes hard on canyon runs or track days? Do you feel that the friction or leverage has been improved? I am running Endless CCRG pads so that alone will improve the friction and operate at a high performance temperature range from 50-800 degrees Celsius. I am thinking my upgraded brakes should be good for canyons and light track use. I’ll keep an eye out for the 6 pots and see if a good deal comes up.

@@docleung let me give you my input. The reason why I upgraded rotors, pads, and fluids, was the OEM setup severely faded on track days. After running this setup, I had virtually NO fade whatsoever. I cannot pinpoint what made the biggest difference, but believe that all the changes were all part of the bigger picture.

Is there any disavantage to upgrade to a bigger 350 mm disk rotor?
@TheAutomotiveFanatic4 жыл бұрын
Michael, the only disadvantages I see: - cost of turbo rotors over Carrera S rotors - slightly more unsprung weight at each rotor This is another case where I believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

How are you liking these r4-s pads at this point? How’s the brake dust?
@TheAutomotiveFanatic2 жыл бұрын
Gabe, I have always been a fan of the RS4 pads. On the C4S, there's no fade whatsoever and brake dust has been reduced.

Hi do you know if I can do this and add the 6p pistons to the front?

@@TheAutomotiveFanatic awesome! What about the brake lines,fittings etc? Can I use my original or do I need to purchase for the turbo lines?

@@RobertS-eq9yn if you're looking to step up to the 6 piston calipers, expect to pay quite a bit of money. They are not cheap.
@TheAutomotiveFanatic3 жыл бұрын
@@RobertS-eq9yn if you upgrade to the larger rotor, do you not have to change out any of the lines or fittings. You just need to make sure you buy the 350mm rotor adapter kit.
