To Umling la pass with Nissan Magnite CVT || Beyond Leh, in Eastern Ladakh || World's highest road

19300 feet - yes, that is how high we took the Nissan Magnite CVT automatic to in Ladakh - the mighty Umling la pass.
The drive started from New Delhi and crossed through Srinagar, Zoji la pass, Leh and Hanle. Umling la pass is situated in Eastern Ladakh and is a two day drive from Leh. It is now the highest place you can ride or drive your vehicle to and the route passes through stunning, yet adventurous places. This is one road trip that should be on everyone's bucket list

Its not about the car whether its a 4wd or 2wd its suv or sedan or hatchback whether its have all modern features or not, it the drivers will power and courage that takes you to the umling la. Me and 2 friends done this in a honda amaze 2016 model manual, petrol. With 14kmpl manali upwards and 16 kmpl leh to lucknow.

Could you throw some light on the engine braking of Magnite CVT in steep downhill please.. I ride from Ooty (7000 feet Above Sea Level) to Bangalore (3000 feet above sea level) often.. the roads involve a good steep downhill which I've been managing with manual mode in my Tata Nexon AMT so far.. but since Magnite CVT lacks Manual gears & also in my test drive the L mode failed to give any engine braking at all!..

Either its umling la or umling pass, not umling la pass. La itself means a pass

Yes Pankaj right. Bunny is aware of that (he visits Ladakh every few months) but for the benefit of normal users / Google search, we used "Umling la pass". Just like how people say Pangong tso lake inspite of "tso" meaning a lake :-)

Frankly non turbo will be tough due to lack of oxygen and powerless at such heights. But with a manual, using right gear..should be possible :-)

How is it 'much' better? And do note that Venue DCT top model is over 3 lakhs more than Magnite top end. Sunroof is a useless feature for Indian conditions.
