Great stuff, this is a database I'd probably want to delve in from the beginning... since in my first life as a football fan, Marco van Basten was my absolute favourite player. Would be great to start a save with AC Milan, also having Gullit, Rijkaard, Maldini etc. there and presumably upcoming talents like Massaro who I remember from the CL final against Barca, when he and Savicevic tore up Cruijff's Barca and won that final 4-0.

11:37 Interesting to see Palermo jump straight into Europe instead of spending time at Boca. And getting the european recognition he would have not were it not for that freak injury in Villarreal. And I know it might be asking too much but it would have been fun to see the changes in the amount of teams for the Premier League and Serie A, and the addition and removal of the Promotion system in LaLiga be applied too.

Use to be excited getting home after school, to play Championship Manager 97/98. Using the space bar, to speed up the commentary. It was such an addictive game back then, all my mates were playing it too. It use to take nearly an hour to load it all up and go on to a next season. So many fond memories, there was some good gems in that game. Robert Page, Svindal Larsen,Moas, Bakayoko, then you had the young but brilliant strikers. Ronaldo and Henry. The Championship Manager games were the best back in the day, I would say the 01/02 was the best one. Its just 97/98 was a brilliant time to be young and that game made it even better.

I remember CM93, can't recall the version before Dave Hanson mentions as I only ever remember real players in the game. In CM93 every season you probably lost a player to a 'transfer to a foreign club' that you couldn't do anything about. Regens were proper regens, you simply shortlisted someone who was retiring that season and their 16 year old replacement twin appeared in your shortlist, so you didn't even need scouting. Regen names were pretty funny sometimes, Iffy Melon was my favourite.

Awesome video and database, can’t wait to try it out. Only criticism, sorry, at the end you say that it is 30years since CM first came out and this is basically that database. However it isn’t. The very first CM, and I am both lucky enough to have bought it on release day and unlucky enough to be that old, had made up players, it didn’t have any real players at all. It wasn’t until Championship Manager 93 that real players were added

Luke you need to know Rivaldo Bebeto Mauro Silva and some great player's come to Deportivo La Coruña and create the "Super Depor" whit the great Arsenio Iglesias as manager he manage to create a team capable to go head to head vs barcelona and madrid in that time.

This is why I don’t play these databases. On the 2004 database can Nistelrooy has 9 first touch, another I tried once had Ronaldo 1 off the ball.
