That black paint it's conductive paint, not need to cover with aluminium tape, if You have a hum noise it's the nylon strings You are useing, without your hands touching the metal on the normal strings you'll always have hum noise

Did you run a wire from the shielding to one of the pots for ground

It's tape so there's adhesive on one side

You didnt have to shield the entire rear side of the pickguard. Just a waste of tape and time. Only the area covering the cavity needed it. Overall, solid job with the project though.
