Had his teammates done better, read Baggio's intentions/shown greater composure, or didn't get fouled....Baggio could have had several assists Throughout his career, Baggio never had a supporting cast like Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets or Modric, Kroos and Casemiro - several great midfielders with him at the same time. Instead he would have one or two who were creative (Pirlo, Boban, Simeone) behind him, but most of the time they were more industrious and defensive-minded. Had he played today, with the game being more open and the coaches more adventurous, Baggio would have had a field day with the extra space, more attacking reference points and the absence of the challenge from behind... not to mention the quality of the pitches, lighter ball...
