Have a couple questions. I'm looking at doing the same thing to my camaro! Is that the boss Bv9979b? Not sure to go with that head unit since it has 85watts x4 or go with a head unit with 50wx4 power with the factory bose speakers. How is the system sounding now after you installed the oea-4 amp interface adapter any distortion of any kind or any problems with the change from the factory head unit in terms of sound quality. Lastly, is your sub that is in the rear working as well with the head unit upgrade?

Jimmy G If you have the Bose system with the one subwoofer in the very back left you should be able to get the from crutchfeild.www.crutchfield.com/S-RDO4basRPxL/p_142C4GM02/Scosche-CGM02-Wiring-Interface.html. That is the interface you need. You need to adjust it while the stereo is out of the dash to get the correct amount of wattage/ohms running to the speakers. If you set it to halfway on all four marks, that will be a sweet spot for not too much wattage/ohms running through the speakers. A little static with complete silence in the car. Once you start the car it's almost impossible to hear this light static. In the end it will keep your stock Bose speakers from frying. The only other way to avoid all this, is completely rewiring the car

Jimmy G Sorry I didnt answer in full. Yes everything works great no problems except for a little static and that is all but it is very minor and only noticable with complete silence. The sub in the back works as well. Follow the schematics for the interface to your aftermarket harness and any extra wires just crimp and tuck away.

Hey , im trying to put an aftermarket single din deck in my 95 z28 with the 5 speaker bose. Got that crutchfield gm02/oea-4 harness/gain control . but theres more wires than what the back of my deck has to work with . Did you have to get some kind of standard gm harness as well or what? Im stumped cause theres nowhere to wire these extra wires from the crutchfield harness but ik i need em. Rrally dont want to pay a shop big bucks either lol

No that is normal i do believe. Some of those wires are for if you have steering wheel controls or dimmers. Follow the schematics for the scosche harness to your aftermarket harness that leads from the cd player you are hooking up. There will be quite a few extra wires that will need crimped because they are non usable steering controls, dimmer, backup camera, etc. Let me know if this helps. Everything on the scosche should be color coded almost exactly to what you are hooking the aftermarket harness from the cd player to it from.

grimey 5.56 thanks i did finally figure it out. What happened was the deck i was trying to use from my other car i wrecked didnt have enough wires to match up with the crutchfield harness. What i didnt realise was when i wrecked it ripped some of the wires out of the back of my deck when it threw it out from the impact. Now im just fighting dealing with excessive feedback in my driver door speaker and both my back seat speakers not making sound. But pass door and sub in back is making sound. Also driver door is making sound at higher levels but has the feedback. I might have an issue with the ground wire not sure. Did you wire your ground to the chassis or just the supplied ground wire to 0ea-4 harness

One Slick LT1 Maro' If one speaker is higher than the other adjust accordingly on the interface. The interface should be dialed in around the middle. Also keep in mind that age plays a big factor and how hard the speakers have been played. The reason I went this route is because I wanted to stay stock as much as possible. My camaro has 26,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of and has never seen the elements. These all play a huge factor on how the car has been treated through the years. You will have a little feedback through the speakers when it is dead silent. It is just a given. They are 23 year old speakers. Keep this in mind. If you are not getting sound to the back but was before, then your wiring is wrong or that harness you have is damaged. If you have anymore questions just hit me up. To answer your question about the ground. I ran it to the harness.

grimey 5.56 i dont know if the rear speakers worked before. The typical bose head unit stopped working . My car also was babied. 57xxx miles and basically never driven. ( old police officer lol ) i could feel the rear seat speakers beating lightly but no music coming through them or any feedback noise . i tried getting ahold of my radio head units tech support about giving me a schematic for the harness that plugs into the back of the radio but they wouldnt because its a current model. Plan to just go to walmart and buy same unit. Check the pins to make i put the wires in the right spots and then take it back lol. If that doesnt fix it, guess im going to an audio shop. Thanks for all your help though, very useful

One Slick LT1 Maro' Not a problem. Sorry I couldnt help any further. I think you stereo harness is your biggest issue because it is strange that the wires are not individually marked. LR+ LR-, 12V, Steering controls and so on. It would make it so much easier for you to hook up. Good luck and enjoy that car.
