If Dunleavy can get this Markannen trade done without losing Kuminga.. i'll give him a A+. You essentially let 2 aging out of prime players walk.. cleared cap space... signed two good role players that are great fits... and replaced those two players with Buddy Hield and an allstar in Lauri. I dont think anyone could do any better than that

hopefully he can pull it off without sacrificing kuminga.

Your comment makes no sense. We need to pay Lauri a big bag next offseason and if not this offseason. You gon have to pay Kuminga again too next offseason. Cap space will explode

@@cardtraderjay Paying two guys with star caliber/potential… that are also nowhere near the age of 30… is far better than paying Klay what he wanted and trading CP3 for scraps. Great move.

Listen, will y'all stop negatively about the warriors, because us as fans are sick and tired of it. Klay made his choice! Klay walked away so let him live his best life. I am very hurt that Klay left but Klay is his own man. I hopes he will be content and do well in the future.❤gg

I’d try to get Phil Handy as a coach and try to bring Steve Nash too. They would make a big difference in coaching.

I don't get why people can't see the vision here. The W's don't NEED another deal - they're much better even without it. Team was right there with teams 7-9 in the west with Dray suspension and Wiggins losing big time to personal reasons. Those 2 things are not injuries(!) and are unlikely to repeat themselves, so there's a few games improvement there from more play time. Further, they let go of Paul and Saric, and those guys were a net negative on the season. Paul gave no personal offense, was a negative defender, and was hurt most of the year, and they're replacing him with more Podz minutes and Melton - who's a great defender, scorer, passer, when healthy. Big improvement. Saric didn't play much and didn't play as well as they expected when he did play, and they're replacing his minutes with more TJD and Quintin Post - who is a prospect, so you don't know how well he'll play in NBA until he does, but he has a few really strong skills that W's can max. Improvement. Then there's Klay... Klay is a HOF, but he's been a bad defender now, and he can't run the offense the same anymore either. What he gives now is leadership and spot 3's. And, the W's can't replace his leadership, but Anderson is a huge defensive upgrade over Klay, and Hield and Anderson replace the spot 3's, so that's also a bit of an upgrade. There can also be progression in Kuminga and other young guys from more usage as well. These moves add like 5-10 wins to a team that was far from bad last year, so it puts us in the conversation. W's will have to fight harder to win a title with this team than in the past because it likely isn't the best team in the league, but if things go our way it is possible to win without doing anything else.

Let me share some tax knowledge. The combined state and local taxes on personal income in California are higher than 15%, while the state tax in Texas is 0. The Lakers' annual income of 20 million is equivalent to 17 million in Texas after deducting 3 million in state taxes. So in terms of income, Klay's actual after-tax income is the same as that of the Mavericks. Moreover, the consumption tax and living cost in Texas are much lower than those in California. It makes perfect sense for Klay to choose Dallas 🎉. Of course, I don't think economic factors are the main reason.

That's true. But there is also a difference in lifestyle. In California, Klay could take his boat to work. He could get legal weed. The social situation would be much friendlier. For equal money, there were reasons to head to LA.

Klay to the Mavs who just went to the finals and fits in perfectly... smart move. MDJ has made solid moves! I don't see LM coming to the Warriors... but i think someone big is still coming. Kind of odd no one has requested a trade to come play with Curry... that's how they got KD and Iggy... which made them champions.

Klay didn't want to go the Lakers and end up on a team that is going through dysfunction. Lebron & Bronny and then Klay & AD 3rd and 4th of the Lakers concerns. Dallas has a better team than the Lakers do too. Klay would be on a rebuilding team when Lebron retires in the next 2 years or so and just him and Anthony Davis on the team.

The difference in state taxes is around 6-7% because NBA players pay state taxes for each arena location not where they live during the season.
@mgw2745
@mgw2745 12 күн бұрын
Why is that? When players file their tax return, do they need to choose their residency state for tax purpose?
@HKim0072
@HKim0072 12 күн бұрын
@@mgw2745 I don't believe they are double taxed. Just taxed once based off the arena location. So, they have 20+ different state tax filings. Edit: I'm not an accountant, but let's say CA tax is 12%. Klay will pay 4-5% now since much of his income is TX derived now.

@@mgw2745 you can look up "jock tax" for deeper explanations. but it's not actually just for athletes, it's for regular ppl too, you're supposed to pay income tax to the state(s) you earn it in. it also applies to nba staff like coaches, trainers, etc.
