This leaner was 96,000 lbs, because of the lack of structural integrity on these trinity trailers we needed to unload some weight so that the trailer didn’t take any damage.

Sir Michael !!! GREAT RECOVERY !!! If you watch ""RON PRATT"" ,,he uses the 4 X 6 timbers standing upright between the tandems on his ""TATOR"" to keep it from rolling backwards instead of using them laying down on the ground !! Just another way to keep the ""TATORS"" from moving !! ""KEEP IT SAFE "" !!!

K B we too do that. We just didn’t have any hard wood on the truck, it’s usually in our recovery trailer but the trailer didn’t go on this call.
@michaelseverson98094 жыл бұрын
K B nice observation, we also use lumber upright, if you use it that way you need to make sure it’s a hardwood. We have a support trailer that carries that lumber. The way I use the lumber here is letting the truck roll up against the lumber until the tire shows a deformation then lock the breaks. We use a little softer wood to bite the asphalt road and lock the truck down. It works great on this type of road, as we get more bite out of the lumber on the ground compared to using the upright style wood that only gives us 4 inches of contact each. Now if we would have been in the dirt I would have used the upright lumber as it digs in awesome. Thank you for commenting, keep up the great work and keep on learning. See you next time.

One of the local wrecker services has, for lack of a better description, a rig that will suck up grain like a vacuum cleaner and blow it inot another trailer. It is trailer mounted and can be towed by a pickup truck.

good job on rigging and recovery only thing i see wrong is the 4 guys standing in the trailer while your winching it out big saftey issue if something goes wrong and it decides to go over there in trouble and try explaining that to an insurance agency as to what happened and why they were injured

@@CountryEquipmentRentals KI know I live in Arkansas and a farmer hauling from the field to the first place of storage has no weight limit, but if he loads somewhere that has scales the weight limits apply. Across the river in Mississippi you ca nbuy a permit for about $30.00 that allows you to have a gross weight up to 83,000 pounds.

Boss man is going to be super pissed when he see's this video. It's a standard right hand turn (corner), should not of been a Biggy as there is plenty of room. The truck driver literally drove the left trailer side trailer wheels into the ditch, where do you think the right wheels were? I don't think he was talking on the phone, I think he was sleeping.

It always amazes me that the trailer designers seem to give basically no consideration to recovery. It all seems to be just maximum payload for minimum cost. I'm sure there are better designs out there, and part of the blame goes to those buying the trailers, but it really wouldn't kill them to design in some lifting points and the like.
@jeremyhanna38524 жыл бұрын
The margins in trucking are tiny and if the job is done right there never a need for recovery of any kind

Being they unloaded some of it and that’s a rotates why didn’t y’all pick it up and move it versus sliding it risking the chance for tearing anything up? Just thought maybe picking it up would be a ton easier but idk weights of trailer and or what your boom can handle
@DarkVoidIII4 жыл бұрын
I think their biggest problem was finding something solid enough to lift with. In the end they settled for dragging it out, which worked, and was relatively free from the chances of damaging something. But I'm not the tow-truck operator, they did it the way they thought best, is my best guess.
@kinnonmurray29413 жыл бұрын
50 ton rotator = 100,000 lifting capacity straight off the rear at 30 to 35 degrees of elevation .... two things wrong here one the truck was way too far away from the job the closer you can set up your wrecker the more control you have of the load your lifting or winching and two a simple pick and swing using a three part line on the low side and a two part line on the high side would have worked way better due to having more control and having more control means your working safer ... when you pick and swing your not lifting the entire weight of the trailer just about half at the very most .... as soon as the trailer starts to come up on the low side then tighten slowly on the cable on the high side and if your positioned correctly the trailer slides back onto level ground all while being controlled

Not arm chair quarterbacking and unloading when possible is the best way. You guys couldn't have come in from the ass of that trailer and some how rigged under the axles picked it up and swung it back to hard ground instead of dragging it from the side? Just asking I owned a wrecker service for 25 years way before the rotators came out (Damn i wish we had em' back then) We used to call a crane company out when we really had to lift and swing something. Overall Good job!
@CountryEquipmentRentals4 жыл бұрын
Phat Boiz Back Yard KustomZ Thanks for your question, it seems that would be the best option but because of this particular type of trailer if we would have picked up the back it’s possible it could buckle in the middle, we didn’t want to take that chance.
