While 96 Bitter Beings still have an incredibly solid instrumental section, Deron Miller has a difficult time conjuring up a compelling vocal performance on many of these tracks.

As a diehard, take a bullet for deron type of fan. I do agree about fire skyline, took me a while to digest the high vocals for "fire skyline" , I think i like deeper heavier vocals. Love the song. I do also like how you keep it professional and give a honest opinion/review, I'd give a higher album score tho. 6 seems a bit low. Can't wait to hear the whole album though. 🤟

I still absolutely LOVE the instrumental. I really weighed giving it a 7 but the vocals are a MASSIVE thing for me. No disrespect to Deron at all. I will still probably frequently listen to this album regardless but I needed to be as plain and honest about it as possible.

I really don't know what happened to Deron's voice between World Under Blood and Galactic Prey but it changed completely. I really miss the old deeper voice and his new voice just really doesn't do it for me. He's always just slightly off and the lyrics can be a little weak and cringy. That being said, the instrumentals are always on point.

I'm a die hard Deron Miller fan and the point everyone touches on his vocals = I think that's where Chad really shined with his production magic. The first thing I noticed on IDR when I got it 20 years ago on launch day was the production boost. Deron's vocals sounded like a Disney movie compared to Volume 1. Great review and channel, dude! Throw Yourself Inside, Bloodrock Mania, and Conditioned or Unconditional are my faves off the new album.

Pretty much same opinion I had. I like the songs, but the vocals get really weird, strained and off key in a lot of them. Hopefully he gets his vocal chops back for the next album, his vocals in CKY were like metal asmr to me and perfectly matched the octave riffs. I'm still enjoying the album and playing it regularly.

The music is all unique and sounds good. I can't get into the album due to the vocals as well. Lyrics aren't great either

I can't really get into Deron's post CKY music nor can I really get into what remains of CKY. They're both pretty weak but I'll give Deron a slight edge for better instrumental work.

Those first 3 tracks I quite enjoyed, loved actually, and when I first watched this, I had the opposite opinion because Fire Skyline doesn't bother me. But the vocal stylings and lyrical content for the majority of the rest of the album are much more miss than hit and I went from super hyped and viewing Camp Pain as this important body of work in rock music to being mostly disappointed or worse, uninterested in most of this album. It's a shame. Kudos to your take.

I've completely turned around on my initial opinion. I feel only Bedtime Stories is replaceable and maybe swapped with a more moody track akin to On and On and On from CP.

6 out of 10, you gotta be kidding??? I honestly don't think you can make a quality review based off of one listen. As far as your opinion on the singles I couldn't disagree with you more. I think Deron's vocals are tremendously catchy and unique on all three of three of the singles. Your critique is so far off base and not really entertaining. I give your review 3/10 stars.

I've had a copy of the album since mid September and have listened to it dozens of times. We can disagree, but I have listened to this album at this point many times and continue to do so.

I know as a die hard cky fan you want to just give it a 10/10 but. But he’s definitely giving positive feed back and critiquing what he finds could be better in his opinion. He’s had the album longer then us he’s had time to really get in depth and know the music so he can break it down better I’d personally give it a higher rating then a 6 but a 6 is his opinion but off of the singles I’ve heard and not hearing the entire album yet while being a life long die hard cky and deron fan I’m definitely feeling an 8/10!once I hear the full thing and get to listen more that could change but no reason to get mad dude opinions are subjective

I think if it was an artist that I had less of a connection to I might actually have given it a higher score. I genuinely love Deron's work and I approached this album very critically. This was absolutely not meant as any kind of hit piece, it's the result of years of listening to his work and picking it apart from a place of care.

@On The Flip Side ...come on man, listen to the lyrics... "Basking in the sunset we three share" "Revenge is living well and satisfied" ..after hearing Slither Away, it's hard not to find a little jab in almost every song that makes the whole album feel like a bitter attack at Chad and Jess. Wish Me Dead and Adios Amigo are pretty blatant examples. I don't agree with it or necessarily think that it's cool, but it's pretty hard to ignore unless you straight up just skip that track while listening. That said and your vocal nitpicking aside, the album has got to be much higher than a gaddam 6 for Conditioned or Unconditional, alone!

Hmm.. could be! Probably some resentment there. I think the 96 Bitter Beings name was a big mistake. It sounds like a cKy cover band.. shoulda just distanced himself from it and made a whole new project, imo. The songs are deserving of that
