Hello Viewers!
In this video I go step by step through a 96 hour (hands on time) wine barrel bar build (liquor cabinet). It actually takes about 12 days from start to finish including all of the curing and drying times
I live in a very dry climate (northern Canada) and have needed to develop some special techniques in order to control how these oak barrels move in different climates
Thanks for watching and please feel free to ask questions in the comment section below

Yes I do, I designed them in Solidworks, But different barrels have different hoop dimensions. I would need to know the dimensions for your hoops, and may have to design some custom new ones for you. My barrels have 2 different widths of hoops.

Hi how are you? Your work is very good, I am from Argentina, this is one of the best videos that I saw about bar barrels, I would like to know the quantities in liters of the components that you use for that liquid that you put, how did you prepare it? How much quantity and what components did you use? Thank you.

How did you keep the doors from flattening? I built one and made one big door and it didn't keep it's curvature to match the barrel.
@BoujeeBarrels
@BoujeeBarrels 2 жыл бұрын
I make cardboard templates of the door opening, and then I use a jig to press the curve back into the door to match my template, while I glue in the curved wood inlay.

I'm doing a LBC now & am hung up on the hinge/door mount; and did a search & found your 3pt series (like how you did yours!) And was hoping to see what I may be doing wrong. Using t-hinges and mounted the same, except in the center, the door cannot clear the frame to open. I have 1/16" kerfs all around. I am hoping I don't have to break out the plane to trim the doors; would like to find out if the doors/frame does need to be trimmed or if there is some trick you used. TYIA. Dane

Curious if you’ve ever tried to do the top horizontal cut ABOVE the second steel band. I’ve seen others do a cut way at the top but that seems too much. You think it’d be stable enough.
@BoujeeBarrels

Yeah that does look pretty pristine compared to others I’ve seen. It’s good to see you priced appropriately…. I’ve seen some where people cut on the top of the second band since the top two bands are so close together I’ve found cutting below the second band can sometimes make the barrel doors bow out a bit. Thinking maybe cutting above the second band would solve that

@@puddytat62 how did that work out for you?
@puddytat62
@puddytat62 Жыл бұрын
@@hoody2141 I found cutting above the strap keeps the doors in the shape it was shaped into . If you cut below the staves tend to unbend and not match the original shape.

The glued in inlays stop the doors and door openings from changing shape, similar to screwing a backing plate to the doors, but much cleaner.

@@mattvolm awesome!! glad I could help, and with that sizing, just make sure you drill a hole a little deeper than the length of the nail, so there is room for the undersized material to bunch up in. or you'll end up breaking through the other side. Cheers!
