A huge thanks to my friend Tim for not only being an amazing tech diagnosing this issue, but for allowing me to repair this ECM, and for sending those waveforms to help create this video!
I hope you all enjoy!

I do auto electrics and with out a little bit of electronic understanding you don't know what's going on . Most circuit's have feed back to keep the setting stable like radios the volume would go up and down with out it I think if you bought some electronics kits to build like a wave generator . I did this and was soon repairing TVs for fun. Great vid well done😁

2 options dont cut caps but desolder one leg and rock it to pull the leg out then the other and pull again. And with your tool , try to remove the iron tip and fully seal nozzle over the solder spot then trigger suction you have a secound where solder us still molten when you removed iron. It is how i do it with tools you showed.
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 3 жыл бұрын
I was unsoldering an smd cap and it popped. That’s why i have been cutting the legs. But I’ll for sure continue working on it! Thanks for the tips

@@VoltageDropDiagnostics: NICE JOB. On densely populated boards, you won't be able to cut components off, so simply wear safety glasses and pratice desoldering them. You have flux and low-melt solder, so you are ahead of most guys learning PCB repair 👍. My 2 cents: Don't rock caps (you cannot rock if area densely populated anyway). Simply flux cap, then bridge BOTH legs of cap with a blob of low melt solder, and it will drop right out IF your iron has the heat capacity. Then, add more flux and clear holes with wick or sucker. Get some KIMWIPES to help with final clean-up; they'll help you get the board looking like new. And FYI: the holes in PCB where circuit transitions between top and bottom is called a "VIA". Cheers

One question sir, these circuits on the motherboard were marked how would you trace them if they were not marked? Visual? Voltmeter/Ohmmeter? One more question if you are willing, solder Trace was pretty neat, please explain how that works.
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 3 жыл бұрын
If the circuit board isn’t marked, you’re going to need a connector pin out and work your way through the board that way. As far as the solder trace. If you use a good flux, the solder will only stick to the copper trace. Not the board.
