I was stationed in the US Navy in sigonella, sicily when ronaldo was brought by inter and i saw every game he played that season. But i really didnt appreciate how really good ronaldo was because my knowledge of the game hadnt matured plus maradona still had italy buzzing. Ronaldos game was at such a high level i couldnt appreciate exactly what i was seeing. That year I even missed a chance to see him live when Inter played Catania just 20 miles from the base. Again I didnt appreicate what i was seeing..! FYI, this was during the golden age of italian futball, when serie A was the undisupted top league of the world so there were already legends on every team. And yet it seemed as if ronaldo was playing against little boys. Every touch, every pass, every shot, every dibble was beyond perfect when ronaldo was on the ball. They knew what he going to do and yet legends couldnt stop him. Ronaldo was just a different kind of animal...simply put, a Fenomeno
